Let’s face it, we’re a celebrity obsessed culture, and that obsession extends to celebrity pets as well. If you enjoy following celebrities, and if you’ve ever wondered about famous cat lovers and their beloved cats, you’ll enjoy Celebrity Cat Names.

From the publisher:

Celebrity stories from Cleopatra to Beyoncé revealed through their cats. From the legend of Prophet Mhammed’s Muezza to the tragic story of Kim Kardashian’s Mercy; from Thomas Hardy’s Kiddleywinkempoops to Big Bang Theory Sheldon’s scientist cats. A diverse mixture of fun facts about historical and contemporary celebrities, chock full of gorgeous cat photos, quotes and tales, Celebrity Cat Names is purrfect for everyone who loves cats.

* Who named all his cats Sam?

* What is the truth, exactly, about Isaac Newton’s invention of the cat flap?

* Which American rapper called his cats Miles Davis and Frank Sinatra?

* Which famous author called cats love sponges?

Celebrity Cats answers these questions, and more. One of my favorite passages was the story of Albert Einstein’s cat Cordula, who became his constant companion after his wife died, and who may have inspired Einstein’s famous quote “the only escape from the miseries of life are music and cats.” I also enjoyed learning more about the cats in John Lennon’s life. I knew he was a cat lover, but I didn’t know that he was owned and loved by a total of 17 cats over the course of his much too short life. And I couldn’t help but laugh at the names of Frank Zappa’s cats, Gorgonzola, Redunzel, and Markmoff – but I suppose that shouldn’t be surprising, considering that he named his kids Moon Unit and Dweezil!

  4. Saw this on the LAPCATS Facebook page (above). I love trivia and I love cats. I volunteer at the County shelter and for LAPCATS feline rescue, and I foster cats for both. My house is always full of kitties (I have 2 of my own and 6 outside strays/ferals). I am always more likely to read a book that involves cats, and a cat trivia book would be the perfect choice for me. I would love to read this book.

  5. We’re always looking for different names to draw attention to our shelter cats. Celebrity Cat Names would give us lots of ideas and maybe even some inspiration for short bios on Petfinder. I would love to have this book as a resource! (Can’t get too much inspiration, can we? :-)).

  6. My cats are obsessed with becoming celebrities over night and, since they cannot succede on their own, they count on me to make their dream come true. Of course, they don’t really expect me to be a celebrity, but they would love to hear me reading them about those who are 🙂

  7. I want to win this book because I want the answers to the questions.
