Many of us spent the past weekend worrying about friends and family in Florida as Irma unleashed her fury on the state. And most cat lovers also worried about the six-toed cats at Hemingway House on Key West. After officials ordered a full evacuation of the Florida Keys, the general manager of Hemingway House refused to leave. 1. Interesting Gonzales even stated that the house is NOT in a flood zone! I think more shelters/sanctuaries should try to build such strong buildings so that all our lovable babies can have the shelter they need. I’m going to work on my FL friends house so that her’s all have higher places to go when the next storm comes in. Very Very glad the Hemingway place and all souls on board fared so well! Well done Mr Hemmingway!! 😉

  2. Good to hear the Hemingway Cats and home, were saved from the storm. Praise to the staff for staying, and keeping the cats safe, and with human company.
