Losing a cat can be devastating, and many cat parents are unprepared for the depth and intensity of the grief they’re experiencing. I have shared a wealth of resources on this site to help you cope with losing a cat over the years. Today, I’d like to share a resource I recently came across: VetVine® offers virtual pet loss support groups for pet parents.
VetVine® Virtual Pet Loss Support Services
VetVine® is an accredited online continuing education provider for veterinary professionals and an educational resource on pet health topics for pet care professionals and pet parents.
They offer Virtual Pet Loss Support Groups, which are led by group facilitators experienced in pet loss and grief support. The facilitators guide the flow of the sessions and ensure that everyone adheres to the group guidelines.
Individuals can participate on a pay-per-group basis. Subscriptions for partnered veterinary and pet care professionals are also available.
For more information and to sign up for one of the virtual pet loss support groups, please visit VetVine.com.
Great idea to make such service! I know from my own experience how hard it is to get through this time.
I found myself experiencing more grief about the death of Street Cat Bob than any of my cats. I think it’s because I was so personally involved with him, including meeting him at his own home. He was such an icon to so many people and was such a part of my life that I was devastated. I found comfort in contacting the grief support group at Blue Cross Animal shelter in London. The person that answered me wrote such insightful comments that it helped me to look at it in a different manner. I would highly recommend their services.
Thank you for sharing that resource for our UK readers, Michelle.
This sounds like a great tool as it’s hard to get together with in person with people right now.
