I met the authors of Hello, My Name is Bunny! at Cat Camp NYC last month. I was charmed by the book’s cover and the interior illustrations at first glance. Of course, anything that combines two of my favorite things, cats and New York City, is going to get my attention, and the fact that Matt and Shelley were not only delightful people, but clearly passionate about their project, really made me look forward to reading this book.
Bunny is a small kitty with a big heart who was rescued from a basement in Brooklyn and found her forever home in a safe, comfortable apartment on the Upper East Side. When she learns about a mistreated carriage horse, Bunny is determined to help. With her friends Mike the Mouse and Polly the Pigeon, Bunny embarks on a wild adventure that takes her through the busy streets of Manhattan. Will Bunny and her friends be able to save the poor carriage horse?
Based on the real life Bunny, this sweet tale is aimed at children ages 2 to 6, but it will charm adult readers as well. I found myself completely absorbed in the story and couldn’t stop smiling at the antics of Bunny and her friends.
Hello, My Name is Bunny! is available from Amazon or from https://hellobunnybloom.com. $5 from every book sold goes to KittyKind, the rescue group who rescued Bunny from her Brooklyn basement.
