I haven’t played board games in a long time, but when I came across Cat-Opoly, I decided it’s time to put together a game night with friends! I loved playing Monopoly as a child. I’m not all that competitive in general, but I remember never being really happy with a game unless I had hotels on Boardwalk and Park Place. And for some reason, I also always wanted to own all four railroad stations.

Cat-Opoly is the feline version of Monopoly. The game pieces are modeled after a milk bottle, a can of sardines, a ball of yarn, a mouse, a can of cat food and a fish, Instead of buying real estate, players acquire cats, and instead of houses, players try to accumulate as many fish bones and litter boxes as they can.

Who’s up for game night?

  1. Check the Amazon reviews before you order this…..lots of disgruntled customers as the cards are not as shown…also board quality seem not so good..
Maybe buy it from a store so you can inspect the game

  2. Hi, this is my first time here.LOL this is quite funny and cute. I never play this games yet, so my point of understanding, you actually “rent” (or adopt) a cat right everytime you stop at each of the panel. Where is the jail? So it is being replaced by catnip? Catnip like a ‘jail’ for a cat i think, due to the cats cannot move and go anywhere. Since the era of the internet ‘monopoly’ our entertainment, the last time i play a board games when i was a kid back in 90s era.

  3. You wanted all 4 Railroads, Ingrid, because the rent is higher the more you own. Same with owning both Boardwalk and Park Place. I think those were the highest rental properties. Happy board game playing!

  4. too funny and it’s about time they updated it as my brother bought me the original game years ago and after I opened it all up I said it was a bogus game since there were no litterboxes anywhere!! Geez, anyone who knows anything about cats knows there must be a litterbox nearby so it’s nice to see it is now more realistic (lol)

  5. I bought this game years ago when I first heard of it. But unfortunately, I have no one to play it with so it just sets there collecting dust. I thought I might be able to get my husband to play, but he doesn’t like games.
