Mews and Nips: Austin Fire Department Rescues Kitten Trapped on Side of Busy Highway

When the Austin Fire Department got a 911 call about a kitten being spotted at the side of a busy highway, they dispatched a crew immediately. Thankfully, the little grey tabby girl survived her scary ordeal with only a slightly beat up nose, and is now being fostered by the woman who placed the 911 call. For more about this wonderful rescue by a fire department that serves all the citizens of Austin, whether they’re two-legged or four-legged, visit the Austin Fire Department Facebook page.

I wonder why the woman who made the call did not pick up the kitten herself since she clearly drove by it?

Calling 911 was the right thing to do. Stopping on a busy highway would have put her and other drivers at risk.
