Mews and Nips: Cat Who Went Viral for Looking Like Adam Driver Got Adopted

It all began with a tweet by Marci Robin, who noticed that Corey, a cat up for adoption through the Monmouth County SPCA in New Jersey, bore an eerie resemblance to Star Wars:The Force Awakens star Adam Driver. The internet went crazy, and Corey caught the eye of Emily Combs, who adopted the cat she appropriately renamed Kylo Ren. McCombs shared the story of how she came to adopt Kylo on Elite Daily. I have to be honest, though – I’m not sure I really see the resemblance…

If you missed any of the stories featured on the Conscious Cat this week, here’s a recap: on Sunday, we shared three simple ways to get into the flow, on Monday, we told you everything you need to know about feline vaccinations, on Tuesday, we reviewed Bavarian Cat Toys, on Wednesday, we explored the mystery of why cats love bathrooms, and on Friday, we reviewed Amy Shojai’s new Thriller, Show and Tell. And don’t forget to enter our giveaway to win an assortment of Bavarian Cat Toys!

For those of you who are getting snow this weekend, I thought today’s video might provide some inspurration. If you’re going to build a snow cat, make sure you post a photo on our Facebook page!

If it got the cat adopted, than I’m all for it, but not sure I completely get it either!

Corey, now Kylo Ren, is a fabulous cat and we are all over the moon he got adopted so quickly after being returned due to allergies. Just an FYI in the article it say Monmouth County Humane and he was adopted from the Monmouth County SPCA. Thanks and congrats to Kylo on his forever home!

My apologies, Sally, I made the correction. I’m so happy that Corey/Kylo Ren had such a happy ending after having to go through the heartbreak of being returned.

Personally, I think the cat looks more like Yoda. From the original Starwars movie which I remember seeing when my kids were in elementary school. They are now 46 and 43!
