I am super excited to announce that Mango Media will be publishing my new book, Tortitude: The Little Book of Cats With a Big Attitude, in February of 2016. The book will include fun facts about torties, as well as funny, inspirational and thought-provoking quotes, and, of course, lots and lots of photos of torties.

And this is where you come in: even though I have thousands of photos of Allegra and Ruby, I want to feature your torties in my book as well, and I need your photos!

  • Photos need to be good quality and high resolution.
  • You must own the rights to the photo (ie., no photos you found on a Google search.)
  • You (or the person who took the photo) will need to sign a photo release if your photo is used in the book.

How to submit your photos

Please submit your photos via email. Put “tortitude book” in the subject, and include the following information with your submission:

  • Your tortie’s name and age
  • Your name, city and state (or country if outside the US)

I’m looking forward to getting your photos. I will be accepting photo submissions through June 15.

Let’s hear it for tortitude!

35 Comments on Your Tortie Could Be in My New Book

  1. Just learned from reading the comments, that my pretty cat Kajsa (photos sent on June 3rd) is a dilute tortie.
Kajsa just looks at me and says “yeah, right..whatever” ๐Ÿ™‚

  2. We didn’t know what tortitude was until Samantha asked us to take her in. Our vet’s assistants laughed & laughed at our descriptions of her.

    When is the deadline?

  3. How wonderful! Sent you a photo of our long haired Tortie, Cocoabean. Can’t wait to see the final outcome!

  4. I wanted to ask before submitting a picture or two of Zesty, in case you do not want torties that have passed over the rainbow bridge

  5. I have a rare male tortie in light grey and cream colors. It’s been a struggle keeping him alive, he’s been to the vet very often… I’ll be sending you pictures!

  6. So how many do you want? ๐Ÿ™‚ And not just Cookie and Kelly, but also Nikka, my dilute tortie, and possibly even her torbie sister Fawn? And my current foster Charm, and a recent foster Josephine, and…just tell me where to stop!

  7. Just wondering if Ruby and Alegra will be Creative Cat Supervisors on your project? I bet their fees are pretty high ๐Ÿ™‚

  8. Will you be including calicoes, Ingrid? Not that I’m sure I’d want to give up the rights to any of my Casey-cat photos (assuming they’re high enough quality, which they may not be), but I’m curious. ๐Ÿ™‚

  9. Hi, I am Kajsa-cat, I live in Sweden with my humans. Here, cats like me, are called “skรถldpaddor”, it is actually the same word as tortoise, but I like “tortie” better. My human Mom just sent you a couple of pretty pictures of me, I am cute as pie, Mom says, but of course that is up to you to decide.

    • Binga is incredibly photogenic and of course is a renowned and famous professional photo bomber!
