In this age of digital greeting cards, it’s always nice to send or receive a “real” card in the mail. I love browsing greeting cards, and I frequently pick up cat cards even without knowing who or for what occasion I’m going to send them. I like to always have a supply on hand.

And sometimes, cat greeting cards are more than just greeting cards: they’re small works of art. This is the case with the cards from Blue Turtle Studio. They’ve been producing handmade cards for the last 17 years. While they’ve moved on from hand cutting each design to utilizing computer design and laser printers, their cards have maintained the appearance of handmade cards.

The designs are reproductions of original water color paintings, which are hand placed on environmentally friendly papers from around the world. Each card is protected by a clear sleeve. Greetings can be added to the front of the card at no additional charge.

Blue Turtle studios sent me an assortment of cards, including the gorgeous tortie design titled “Attentive Cat” pictured at the top of the post. I absolutely adore all the designs. “Geranium Cat” makes me think of summer. “Cat and the Blue Door” generated an instant “awww” response. “Cat  in the Window” gives me an instant sense of peace.

I’m not sure yet who I’ll send these cards to. Since all of them are suitable for framing, I may decide to keep one or two for myself.

The designs shown here are only a small sample of Blue Turtle Studio’s vast selection of design, and they’re not just limited to cats. Please visit their website to browse and purchase – you’re in for a real treat.

FTC Disclosure: I received these cards for review at no charge. I also received a fee for writing this review. Receiving the free product and the fee did not influence my review. All reviews on The Conscious Cat will always reflect my honest and unbiased opinion.
