Mews and Nips: Special Mother’s Day Edition

Tomorrow is Mother’s Day, and today’s stories and our video are all about love! As a proud cat mom, of course I had to start this post with a  photo of Allegra and Ruby!

Angie Bailey shares A Mother’s Day Letter from My Cats in her Feline Wisdom column in Edge Magazine this month. Her three cats Saffy, Cosmo and Phoebe (follow their antics on Angie’s blog, Catladyland) know how to live happy and balanced lives, and they want that for their cat mom, too. Read A Mother’s Day Letter from My Cats on Edge Magazine.

Robin Olson’s piece You Are Love brought tears to my eyes. It’s a love letter from a cat mom to her cats. “I watch you sleep, curled up against the chill of the evening air. Your eyes closed, a serene smile plays upon your mouth. Your chest rises and falls in a peaceful rhythm. For you, with a full belly and a soft place to lie, all is good in the world.” Read You Are Love on Covered in Cat Hair.

If you missed any of the stories featured on The Conscious Cat this week, here’s a recap: On Monday, we addressed the topic of chronic diarrhea in cats, on Tuesday, we announced the release of Jackson Galaxy’s book Cat Daddy in paperback, on Wednesday, we introduced you to cat mystery author Leann Sweeney, on Thursday, we shared a roundup of our favorite interactive cat toys, and on Friday, we reviewed Wendy Christensen’s Outsmarting Cats.

Today’s video of a mother cat hugging her kitten is a classic that is just too good not to share for Mother’s Day.

Have a great weekend, and Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms out there of both human and feline children!

Lovely post, Ingrid. Robin’s post brought me to tears as well. Have a wonderful Mother’s Day with your girls and see you in a couple days!
