Mews and Nips Special Animal Planet Edition

Animal_Planet_Kitten_Cam

Instead of our usual round up of the week’s best cat stories, I have a special treat for you today. Animal Planet just launced a new interactive web experience known as Animal Planet L!VE, which streams live feeds of various animals 24/7, and of course, this includes a Kitten Cam!

The Kitten Cam features adoptable cats from the Washington Animal Rescue League. Currently, you can see a beautiful tortie mom in the room to bring you daily kitten cuteness by way of an adorabe live cam.

The beautiful tortie shown in the screenshot above is Candy. She and her four babies, Sugar, Sour Patch, Snickers and Skittles (two boys and two girls) are all available for adoption.

Fair warning: the kitten cam is highly addictive. I find myself watching even when I tune in at a time when the kittens are sleeping!

And speaking of Animal Planet, don’t forget to tune in or set your DVR’s for another brand new episode of My Cat From Hell with Cat Daddy Jackson Galaxy tonight at 8pm Eastern/5pm Pacific (check local listings). You may also want to check out Animal Planet’s Pets 101 Cat Guide.

Washington Animal Rescue League was founded in 1914 and is the oldest shelter in the Washington, D.C. area. The mission of the Washington Animal Rescue League is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome animals who have nowhere else to go. The shelter is committed to strengthening and preserving the human-animal bond by supporting animals in their homes through affordable veterinary care, community outreach, and education. If you’re so inclined, find out how you can help.

Mews and Nips will return with a full edition next week.

I am completely addicted to the Kitten Cam! I leave it minimized on my computer at work and take a peek whenever I need a lift.

Hmmm…. just like our house. Soundly sleeping kitties interrupted by an occasional ear flicker. I will have to check it out later when the sun puddles don’t have them knocked out!
