Our first story is about Tiger, an Ohio cat who saved his guardians from carbon monoxide poisoning. Michelle and Rod Ramsey had gone to bed early because they weren’t feeling well. “We thought maybe we had some food poisoning,” Michelle said. The couple was woken by Tiger’s screams. Ramsey said that she called their veterinarian when her other cats started to stumble around the house. A veterinary technician asked Michelle if she had just turned on the furnace, and when she answered yes, Michelle said that she realized the house was full of carbon monoxide. Firefighters told the couple that they did not know how the two were awake, let alone alive. Full story and video on Central Ohio’s 10TV.com.
Have you ever heard of a Liliger? I hadn’t either until I saw a story about the first Liliger born in a Siberian Zoo. According to a report in the British newspaper The Sun, Kiara’s dad is an African lion and her mother is a liger – a cross between a lion and a tiger – which makes her a Liliger. But what really caught my eye about this story is that Kiara’s mother didn’t have enough milk for the baby, so one of the zoo’s resident cats adopted the exotic youngster. Can you say awww? For more on Kiara, and an adorable video, visit The Sun.
I have no idea what is being said in the video below, but I thought it was such a quirky and fun idea for a commercial, I just had to share it – although as a cat and coffee lover, I can’t imagine that a beautiful cat like this would actually condone the use of instant coffee. Enjoy!
