With Valentine’s Day right around the corner, we’re starting today’s news round up with a cat named Cupid. Life with Cats reports that Cupid was found with a dull archery arrow that had been sticking through him for days before he was rescued. Fortunately, the arrow pierced Cupid in a manner that did minimal damage. After being cared for at Brittmore Animal Hospital, Cupid went into foster care and is recuperating well. Cupid, who is good natured, friendly, playful and loving, is said to act as though nothing bad had happened. Read Cupid’s full story on Life with Cats.
In the wake of the story about the feral cats on Loew’s Hotels’ Portofino Bay and Royal Pacific Resort properties in Orlando, FL, Deborah Barnes, who writes Zee & Zoey’s Chronicle Connection, wrote a heartfelt and informative 3-part series about feral cats. The series is a must read for anyone who wants to gain a better understanding of feral cats and how to care for a feral colony. Deborah met up with Christine Michaels of Riverfront Cats, who spearheaded a massive social networking campaign to prevent the Loews cats from being trapped and relocated. Michaels has been successfully managing a feral colony in Miami since 2009. Read Deborah’s account of her meeting with Michaels, and what she learned about feral cats.
Make up for cats? Never! But which female cat lover could resist the adorable packaging of Paul & Joe’s new Kitten Collection? There are blushers with names like Glamourpuss, Minou, and Catfight, and lipsticks named Tigress, Kitten Claws and Manekineko. There’s also a Black Cat Cool mascara. I absolutely love the lipstick design. Somebody on Paul & Joe’s design team is clearly a cat lover. For more on the collection, visit Paul & Joe.
Today’s video of two cats grooming each other just melts my heart – enjoy!
Have a great weekend!
