Cat trees are a must have for indoor cats. They satsify cats’ need to climb, they provide a great view of the outdoors if placed near a window, and they offer an outlet for cats’ natural instinct to scratch. Cat trees are especially important in multicat households, giving cats opportunities to share territory on more than one level, without bumping into each other and creating possible altercations.Continue Reading
Scratching is a natural behavior for cats. Cats scratch to groom their claws, the scratching motion helps remove dead sheaths from their front claws (they usually chew them off their back claws). They scratch to mark their territory. Their front paws contain scent glands, and scratching leaves behind their unique signature on the object being scratched. They scratch for exercise; scratching stretches the muscles in the front legs and all along the back. And they scratch simply because it feels good.Continue Reading

I was first introduced to Kathy Ireland’s Loved Ones line of pet product at the 2014 Global Pet Expo (where I also got to meet Kathy herself, which was an absolute thrill.) This line of pet products is not just another so so line with a celebrity name attached to it.Continue Reading
The Vesper Cat Furniture line from Hagen is quite possibly the most beautiful line of cat furniture I’ve seen, and I see a lot of cat furniture. We reviewed the V-Base model earlier this year and gave it our sought after Conscious Cat Seal of Approval. The girls use this gorgeous piece of cat furniture every single day. When we wrote the review, Vesper was still a little difficult to find, but it is now widely available. Continue Reading

I first saw the new Vesper line of cat furniture from Hagen at Superzoo in Las Vegas last summer. I fell in love with it on the spot. It’s quite possibly the most beautiful line of cat furniture I’ve seen, and I see a lot of cat furniture. When I saw it again at Global Pet Expo last month, I loved it just as much, and picked it as my choice for Best in Show.
The entire line offers the purrfect combination of beautiful design, cat-friendly materials and absolutely wonderful workmanship. All of the pieces are simply stunning. They feature different combinations of platforms, cubes, and tunnels, and plenty of scratching areas.Continue Reading
I love discovering cat products that are not just functional, but also beautifully designed and well made. Domen and Miha Grošelj, two brothers from Slovenia who share a great love for cats, have created an incredibly gorgeous line of products ranging from beds to scratchers to food bowls.
The brothers spend countless hours in front of the computer searching for something that their cat Rossi would love, but that would also fit into their home. Continue Reading
Katris is a system of corrugated cardboard shapes that you can arrange in endless configurations. Remember the computer game Tetris? You get the idea. We reviewed the entire system a little while back, and gave it two thumbs and four paws up.
The pieces are hand assembled from 100% recyclable cardboard, using 90% post consumer recycled content. They use only non-toxic starch-based adhesives and no inks or dyes. Each piece is nice and sturdy, and as long as you start out with a solid base, you can build it pretty high. The individual pieces are super sturdy on their own and make great scratchers.Continue Reading
When it comes to appropriately named businesses, Kool Kitty Toys’ product definitely lives up to its brand name! This 5 foot high scratching post is one of the most unique cat products I’ve seen in quite some time. Allegra and Ruby were excited to get to test it.
Allegra was a bit intimidated by the sheer size of this post, but she warmed up very quickly. Ruby went to explore immediately, and gave the thick sisal covering a quick scratch of approval. Continue Reading
