Single girl, single guy, and an adorable cat burglar: Talk to the Paw is a light and fluffy romance about a matchmaking cat and the clueless humans he’s trying to bring together.

From the publisher:

Jamie Snyder is thirty-four and single but NOT ready to mingle. After suffering through The Year of the Non-Commital Man, The Year of the Self-Absorbed Man, and The Year of the Forgot-to-Mention-I’m-Married Man, Jamie’s ready to celebrate The Year of Me—and MacGyver, of course. MacGyver is an adorable tabby with a not-so-adorable habit of sneaking out at night and stealing things from the neighbors. That’s right, MacGyver is a cat burglar. He’s still the only male Jamie trusts—and the only companion she needs . . .but her cat has other ideas. He knows his human is lonely. He can smell it. It’s the same smell he’s noticed on their handsome neighbor David. So he steals something from David and leaves it on Jamie’s doorstep. Then, he steals something from Jamie and leaves it wit David. Before long, the two are swapping stolen goods and dating horror stories.

I really liked this lighthearted, uncomplicated story. You have to suspend belief quite a bit. The premise, and the execution of the idea, are a bit of a stretch, but then, isn’t escaping reality why we read fiction? The sections written in MacGyver’s voice are well done and show that the author knows cats. Some of the human characters are a little bit one-dimensional while others are a little too quirky to seem real, but that didn’t interfere with my enjoyment of the story.

If you’re looking for a fun, quick, happy read, this book is for you.
