There’s no question that cats have healing powers. Simply petting a cat can lower your blood pressure. Research has even shown that the frequency of a cat’s purr can aid with healing of bones, tendons, ligaments, and muscles as well as provide pain relief. The cats who share their stories in Rescued Volume 2, edited by Janiss Garza, the human behind Summer, the star of the Sparkle Cat blog, are all testament to the transformative power rescue cats have on their humans.

From Belladonna, a diabetic kitten who brought comfort to her human after she lost two cats close together, to Mr. Jazz, the feline author of Purr Prints of the Heart: A Cat’s Tale of Life, Death and Beyond, who helps his grieving human find the kitten that will eventually heal her heart, these stories will touch your heart.

Writing in a cat’s voice is an art, and not all writers do it well. Janiss Garza did a wonderful job picking exceptionally well written stories that showcase each cat’s unique voice. You won’t find any LOL cat speak in this volume.

Some of the stories will make you tear up, some will make you smile, often at the same time. As you read the book, you will, no doubt, think about your own rescue cat’s story and how your cat has healed your life. Ultimately, this book is a love story to all rescue cats.

  1. Thank you so much for this review! We’re so glad you enjoyed reading it.

Purrs from Allie and her human 🙂

  2. What a pleasant surprise to see this review! As the once grieving human of Mr. Jazz, the feline author of Purr Prints of the Heart, it means the world to me to be a part of Rescued Volume 2. Mr. Jazz wrote Purr Prints from the afterlife and that is how he writes in this book. It’s a unique approach and I’m grateful for the opportunity to share his voice, once again, to tell the story of how he brought me to my Jazmine – the orange kitten who healed my heart!

  3. My human says, “Thanks so much for the awesome review! It was put together with lots of love.”
