The old saying “don’t judge a book by its cover” most definitely does not apply to Real Men Love Cats. I loved this book just as much as I love the title and the cover. The fourth and final book in Nic Tatano’s series about four friends and their four cats delivers romance, lovable human and feline characters and plenty of plot twists to keep you turning the pages.
I discovered Nic Tatano’s books earlier this year, when I read The Lost Cats and Lonely Hearts Club. In that book, network reporter Madison Shaw discovers a litter of four orphaned kittens. There are four women at the center of all the action in the book, Madison, and her best friends Tish, A.J. and Rory. When the kittens were old enough to go to their forever homes, guess where they went? The second book in the series The Empire State Cat’s Christmas Gift, features Tish and her kitten. The third book, The Sunshine Cat, is about A.J. and her cat Gypsy.
Real Men Love Cats is Rory’s story. She is very picky when it comes to men. In her opinion, Mister Right should check off some important boxes, and if “love me, love my cat” isn’t one of them, that’s a dealbreaker. Unfortunately, the men she’s been dating want nothing to do with her six-toed tabby, Hemingway. Can she find a man who loves her and loves cats?
When Rory meets the CEO of a cat food company, it looks like she just may have found the purrfect guy. But there’s another man in her life who seems all wrong for her. However, after he meets Hemingway, she starts to see him in a different light. Could Rory’s cat pave the way to love?
If you’re looking for a heart warming story that will make you smile and even laugh out loud, you’re going to love this book. The four friends and their cats will stay with you long after you turn the final page. I rarely re-read romance novels, but I’ve read this series a couple of times – it’s just that good.

This fast moving romance is a delightful end to a wonderful series. It can be read as a stand alone, but why not read the other three books in the series as well? Thanks for this post. I’ve never heard of these books. Bought the lost cats and lonely hearts club kindle version and plan to read them all eventually. When my husband and I were dating 31 years ago, he wooed me with a little kitten we named Tiger. We’ve had 8 cats since, 2 at the present time with a feral we are feeding, that’s a possibility for number 9!
I need to get caught up on this series. I only read the first book.
