UV flashlight

If you’ve ever had a cat who peed outside the litter box, you know how frustrating it can be to completely clean up any residual urine stains. Even though you may think you’ve gotten rid of the stain and the associated odor, your cat may still keep returning to the same spot, because he can still smell it. Cats are attracted back to the same area if there’s even just a very faint residual scent of urine. The best way to make sure that all traces of urine are cleaned up is with a UV or black light.

The RAVPower Luster LED UV Flashlight is a compact sized 2-in-1 device. It can be used to detect hidden urine stains in a dark room. The best way to use the light is to start at the area where you think the stain might be, and then use a sweeping motion while slowly moving further away from the initial spot. Areas with urine will flouresce in the dark. You may want to mark the areas with painter’s tape since they may not be visible once you turn the light in the room back on.

The RAVPower Luster LED UV Flashlight features:

  • UV-A flashlight to show hidden pet stains and other unfavorable spots on carpet or clothes – makes cleaning easier
  • Use it to authenticate notes, currency, documents, and passports
  • Built-in 3200 mAh portable charger with iSmart technology for optimized charging
  • Premium grade A+ battery cells certified for over 1000 recharge cycles
  • Security protection design – short-circuit, over-current protection, and more

20 Comments on Pet-Friendly UV Flashlight Detects Hidden Urine Stains

  1. I have one who loves to try to pee on clothes and towels. We debt leave them laying around, but what if he’s doing it somewhere else now? ?

  2. We have two “Special Needs” Cats that often think “outside the box”.
This would come in very handy to track down where that occurrs…!!!

  3. I could use that flashlight as I have a very tall male cat that pees over the rim of the box no matter how high it is! Very frustrating to find a tall enough litter box. Any suggestions?

    • You may want to take a look at this box, Catherine – it’s solved our “vertical peer” issues:

  4. Great review, Ingrid! I would love to have one of these to detect any areas that I may not have found and cleaned.

  5. Tried to order using the code and Amazon says that promotion hasn’t started yet. Today is 7/21. What gives?

    • I’ve alerted RAVPower that the code is not working, Lee. Since they’re overseas, they may not get my email until late tonight. My apologies, and thank you for your patience!

      • Thank you. Ordered. About a month ago, I changed the litter brand and one of my two cats apparently didn’t like the new brand so started peeing on carpet. Has been a task to fine exactly where, so am looking forward to receiving this item for sure.

    • Hi Ingrid,

Did you receive a response from RAV Power regarding the promo code not working? I tried ordering today and Amazon would not accept my code.

      • The code was working up until today and is supposed to work through August 5, so I’m not sure what’s going on, Debbie. I sent an email to RAVPower but may not hear back from them until tomorrow. I’ll update as soon as they fix it! I’m so sorry for the inconvenience!

      • The the code should be working, Debbie. According to RAVPower, there are two scenarios in which it wouldn’t work: if you’ve used the code before (the code can only be once per Amazon account,) or if you’ve tried to use it with another discount code for another product you may have had in your cart.

    • Pallas cats, also known as Manul cats, are small wild cats, Lee:

  6. I’m objecting to the use of a wild Pallas cat for commercial purposes. These endangered smaller “big cats” need protection, not exploitation. Ingrid, I’m disappointed in you.

    • Thank you for expressing your objection, Annie. I’m passing this on to RAVPower with a request to replace the image.

  7. Wait – that’s a Pallas Cat in the photo! I don’t think you can housebreak those kitties. 😉

    • I was thinking the same thing, Summer, but it sure makes for a great photo to go with the product! 🙂
