Mews and Nips: Cat Comes to the Rescue When His Human Locked Herself Out of Her Home

Boko-the-Rescue-Cat

Boko the cat may not have opposable thumbs, but that didn’t stop him from helping  out his human when she locked herself out of her house. When Gabriella Tropea went to her rear patio, where the back sliding door was kept closed by a wooden stick jammed into the door frame, Boko apparently got an idea of how to help. “He started rubbing his face on the stick and I was encouraging him to mess with it. I was coaching him to lift it up,” Tropea told The Dodo. “He understood what I was trying to tell him and he started lifting it up!” Read the full story on GoodNewsNetwork.

We’re big fans of Mario Arbore and the amazing cat furniture he builds under his company name Square Paws. So it’s not surprise that Mario stepped up to the challenge when he was asked to create two very special cat rooms for Bianca’s Furry Friends Feline Adoption Center at North Shore Animal League America in Port Washington, New York. The new cat adoption center project was spearheaded by Beth and Howard Stern, who asked Mario to create two cat rooms in honor of Billy Joel, as a thank you for his support of the new facility. The results are stunning! Please read “Two Odes to Billy Joel” for details and gorgeous photos of the two rooms.

Mews and Nips: Gracie the Adventure Cat

Mike Usher heard a kitten’s faint cries seemingly coming from inside a wall while taking care of his uncle’s house on St. John in the US Virgin Islands. After looking for six days, he found the kitten, cleaned her up, and fed her. Once they took a minute to look at each other, it was love at first sight. Mike loves to hike and swim, and couldn’t bear the thought of leaving Gracie behind, so he trained her to join him on his adventures. Read more about the pair on the Animal Rescue Site blog, or follow their adventures on Instagram.Continue Reading
