I consider Sleepypod carriers the cadillac of cat carriers in terms of design, safety and ease of use. I also think the fact that they’re simply gorgeous is a big plus, as it will allow design-conscious cat guardians to make the Sleepypod a regular part of their living space, which will make life less stressful for cats when it’s time to get into the carrier. And now, their entire line of carriers comes in a gorgeous new color: First Blush.
Our friends at Sleepypod were kind enough to send us a Mobile Pet bed in the new color. They also sent us a a White Ultra Plush Bedding insert. All carriers come standard with a black insert, but I thought Allegra would photograph better on white 🙂
The Sleepypod Mobile Pet
The Sleepypod Mobile Pet Bed is so much more than just a carrier. It’s a luxury bed, lined with ultraplush foam. The domed cover unzips easily, so you can adapt it to your cat’s sleeping preference even while using it inside your home. Some cats may prefer the top removed, others may like the security of the cover.
When used as a carrier, the Sleepypod not only lets your cat travel in comfort, it’s also the safest cat carrier on the market. Velcro positioning points that secure a seat belt in place turn the Sleepypod into a safe car seat. The Pet Passenger Restraint System (PPRS) is a safety system designed by Sleepypod to secure a pet in a vehicle and restrict harmful movement resulting from a sudden vehicle stop or frontal collision. Sleepypod puts all their carriers through stringent safety tests at the same standards set for child safety restraints.
All this, and it’s gorgeous – and isn’t the new color just stunning?
It didn’t take Allegra long to claim the bed as her new favorite. I cut the video off after 30 seconds, but she went on like this for a good two minutes before curling up in a ball for a nice long nap!
The Sleepypod Go Bag
We also received a Sleepypod Go Bag in the First Blush color. The bag was designed for pet travel, but it’s also suitable for human travel with all its well thought out and clever features.
• 2 small pockets for smaller items
• 1 large padded pocket for essential documents, computer or tablet
• Lanyard for hanging items like keys
• Easy clean exterior imade of luggage-grade, ballistic nylon• Padded main compartment
• Top zip with double zipper pulls
• Tapered profile for comfortable cross-body carrying
• Structured design with flat base for stability
• Streamlined grab handle
• Adjustable shoulder strap with comfort padding
• Single zipper front pocket for easy access items
• 2 gusseted side pockets for items like beverage bottles or phone
• Utility ring for hanging items like a leash or flashlight
• Easy clean exterior is made of luggage-grade, ballistic nylon
• 2 padded, mini cubes with double zipper pulls
• 1 insulated food bag
This bag beats just about any travel bag I’ve seen in terms of design and versatility. The bag is large, but not so large that carrying it would be awkward. I like the option to carry it cross-body for added comfort. It is large enough to hold a laptop or tablet.
In addition to making a great travel bag, the Sleepypod Go Bag can be used as part of your emergency kit. If you don’t already have one, this bag is a great tool to get you started. Put your cat’s medical records, vaccine certificates and licenses, and a list of medications, if applicable, into the bag. Pack enough food to last for at least a few days into the provided containers. Don’t forget to include food and water dishes. If your cat requires medication, keep enough to last for a few days on hand in your emergency kit. Consider adding a first aid kit to your Go Bag.
In addition to the new First Blush color, the Go Bag is available in all other Sleepypod colors.
