Cat lovers all know the “if it fits it sits” meme, showing cats squeezing themselves into what sometimes appear to be impossibly small spaces. Earlier this week, an article in the Mercury News explored this behavior, and, unlike many cat behaviors that have humans puzzled, the reason for this seems to simply be that cats feel more secure in tight quarters. Visit the Mercury News to read more about this behavior.
If you missed any of the stories featured on the Conscious Cat this week, here’s a recap: on Sunday, we celebrated Easter, on Monday we told you about nine common household hazards for cats, on Tuesday, we announced the winners of our 9th Anniversary Giveaway, on Wednesday, we discussed in home euthanasia, on Thursday, we featured adorable t-shirts for cat lovers from Triple T Studios, and on Friday, we celebrated Allegra’s 8th adoption anniversary.
Since we celebrated Allegra’s adoption anniversary yesterday, I thought I’d share a video I took of her a week after she came to my house. She still loves Q-Tips.
Have a great weekend!

Allegra is cute with her Q-tip. I keep mine put away under the sink, but I remember one time when Kiki got ahold of one and took off with it to play with. I had fun watching her.
