Having to pay a parking ticket in Muncie, Indiana won’t be quite as painful as it used to be. The Muncie police department, in collaboration with Muncie Animal Care and Services, allows traffic violators to pay off fines by donating cat food to the shelter. Not surprisingly, the responses from the community have been enthusiastic. For more about this wonderful program, visit Shared.com.

this is a great idea.
Three cheers for Muncie, Indiana; it’s about time some area starts thinking about the animals in the shelters. Maybe other states should decide to do the same!
Wouldn’t that be awesome, Eleanor!
great idea…..I passed it on to our local police departments….they are very progressive here in Maine.
What a wonderful idea to have. We wish every city would think about doing something like this. Now people won’t be so angry when paying a ticket. Thanks for sharing the wonderful story. Have a great rest of your weekend.
Getting a ticket there wouldn’t feel so bad if it helps the shelter. I think it is a wonderful idea.
