Mews and Nips: Woman Married Her Cat To Get Around Landlord’s Pet Restrictions

cat-wedding

A London woman recently married her cat in hopes of avoiding rental restrictions which forced her to rehome three previous pets due to landlords who rejected pets. She is facing eviction again despite previous permission from her landlord to have a cat. Anticipating yet another move, the pair got married preemptively so they could stay together regardless of any lease stipulations. “By marrying India, I need any future landlords to know that we come as a package and we cannot be separated under any circumstances as she is as important to me as my children,” Deborah Hodge told LADBible. Mews and Nips: Your Cat’s Primordial Pouch – What Is It For?

primordial-pouch

Did you know that all cats have a primordial pouch, even normal weight cats? You may have a different name for the soft, saggy skin underneath a cat’s belly. When I managed a veterinary practice, one of our clinic cats had a very pronounced primordial pouch, and I used to call it his bed skirt. For more about this part of your cat’s anatomy, its function, and why it’s more pronounced in some cats and not in others, visit the Chewy.com blog.

Mews and Nips: Can You Set Boundaries With Cats?

I’ve never understood complaints about a cat being too “clingy.” Ruby was my “velcro cat.” If she had had her way, she would have been glued to me 24/7 – and I treasured every moment and would give anything to have more of that. Honestly, I can’t really imagine that a cat wanting my attention would ever bother me, but there may be situations when a cat parent might need a little distance. Maybe your cat won’t leave you alone at night? Maybe he keeps interfering with your work? Inverse talked to multiple cat experts about why some cats are more clingy than others and how to set healthy boundaries and offers some great tips for different situations. Click here to read Can I get my cat to leave me alone at night?  How to set healthy boundaries.

If you’ve read us for any length of time, you know that our favorite litter box is the NVR Miss litter box.

When I adopted Ruby in 2011, I didn’t realize that I would be embarking on the search for the perfect litter box. Ruby was a vertical pee-er. I had never had one of those. My regular litter box wasn’t going to work any longer. Continue Reading
