Volana Kote (aka Jen Glick) is a Delaware based jewelry designer who creates gorgeous pieces incorporating naturally fallen cat whiskers. Jen has always saved her cats’ whiskers. “They bring good luck,” she says. She has also designed jewelry as long as she can remember, and one day, she started incorporating whiskers into her designs. Her gorgeous pieces range from necklaces to earrings to bracelets. She also offers keychains, cuff links and tie clips. Most pieces are available with a choice of different metals. Each piece is created under the watchful eye of Jen’s four feline rescues, who all have glorious whiskers!

The Kitty Ears ornaments or keychains are one of Jen’s newest designs. These hang beautifully on their own, adorned around an urn or on a keychain to travel with you everywhere you go!

Your cat’s naturally fallen whiskers will be carefully custom set into 25mm round bezel cups and sealed with a waterproof epoxy resin and glass cabochon.

Jen accepts naturally fallen whiskers only. Whiskers are deeply rooted and rich in blood vessels and nerve endings. Whiskers are very sensitive and should never be pulled or plucked out. Trimmed whiskers are acceptable after a cat has transitioned. A minimum of 5 whiskers is recommended for each piece.

Jen can also make these ornaments with a teaspoon of your cat’s ashes. Pre-made whiskers jewels are available, too.

These ornaments and keychains are a lovely way to honor and remember a special cat.

  1. One day I am going to do this with whiskers that I have fallen off my cats. I would love to do something for my husband with Pono’s whiskers. Actually today would have been Pono’s birthday.
