I love seeing more and more cat product companies taking into account that their products do not just have to please cats, they also have to make the human happy. Because let’s face it, if you relegate that ugly piece of cat furniture into a part of your home that you rarely use, chances are your cat isn’t going to use it, either.
Tuft + Paw is taking modern design for cats to a whole new level. Their mission, “to provide comfort and delight for cats and humans,” is reflected in every single one of their products. When they asked me to pick a product to review, I had a hard time choosing, and as much as I wanted one of their larger pieces, I simply don’t have the room for them in my small home right now.
I chose the Puff bed because frankly, I was curious how a high end cat bed would differ from other beds on the market. Let me tell you, the Puff is like the Rolls Royce of cat beds!
This bed is made from contoured foam – think Tempurpedic mattress, except it’s a cat bed. This is a solid bed! The inner bowl is firm and supportive, and the rim is nice and solid. It is covered in a super soft sherpa-type fabric.
At 20 inches diameter and 6.5 inches high, it is probably best suited for cats weighing 15 pounds or less. Due to its construction, the bed cannot be machine washed. Simply use a lint brush or roller and spot clean as needed.
The Puff is available in off-white and in the gorgeous blue we received.
Putting the Puff to the test
As soon as I put the bed down, Allegra went to check it out immediately and proceeded to take a nice long bath before settling down in it.
This bed is ideal for cats who like to sleep curled up or like to feel partially enclosed when they nap. Since it is made from countoured foam, it will not change shape, and would not be a good choice for cats who like to sleep streched out.
