While there is no question that indoor cats live longer and healthier lives, if you feel strongly that your cat should have access to the outdoors, there are safe ways to provide this. Leash training is one way to allow cats to safely enjoy being outside. For some cats, safe outdoor excursions can help prevent behavior problems by stimulating them and helping them burn off excess energy. Leash training can also come in handy during trips to the veterinarian, or during emergency situations.

Get the right harness for your cat

To train your cat to walk on a leash, you need to start with a harness specifically made for cats. It should be lightweight, fit comfortably and come with a clip attached to the back of the harness. The leash should pull from the chest, not the neck.

Supakit harnesses and leashes

Supakit’s luxurious harnesses are handcrafted from genuine leather or eco-friendly vegan cork. Supremely comfortable, these soft and supple harnesses will last a lifetime. They fasten with a single buckle – no head loops or noisy velcro. Available in three sizes, they are fully adjustable for a perfect fit. The sling design cradles your cat securely without putting any pressure on the head or neck.

Supakit Rope Leash

Hand crafted from ultra soft and luxurious natural cotton rope, the Supakit rope leash is a soft, flexible yet super-strong cat lead with clasps and hardware sized for cats so it will never weigh your cat down. The leash is hand-washable in warm water. Rope leashes are available in colors to match Supakit’s harnesses.

39 Comments on Giveaway: Supakit Cat Harness and Leash

  1. I managed to harness-train my kitty at 2 years old. Her current harness is getting old and I am starting to wonder if she might slip out of it. This Supakit Cat Harness and Leash set looks lovely, durable and safe for a skittish calico.
My Kalico Kitty has said that she feels that the leather burgundy would be her preference — if she had her druthers — though all of them look lovely and comfortable.

  2. I would love to take my cats outside! They are strictly indoor cats – I would love the deep blue harness and leash! thanks!

  3. I live in an area where most of my neighbors allow their cats to be indoor-outdoor cats. I could never personally choose that for my cat but my cat does seem very interested outside. Whenever I bring home plants or flowers, she always obsessively rubs her face against them. I think the best compromise would be to take her out for walks. Like a lot of other commenters, I also think the mint green leash and harness is the best color.

  4. I think this Supakit Harness & Rope Leash would be comfortable for my cats to wear so I can take them out to explore our yard safely. I really like the Deep Blue color.

  5. Clara can slip from her current harness so this would be lovely and as a black cat I’m thinking that red will look lovely on her

  6. We now have a cat yard so no more harness trials. Sorry but Rumpy would be out of this in 2 seconds. You need a full body harness unless a cat is already just about trained to walk beside you. Even then what about a scare? Sorry looks like something for a Pekinese

  7. Weeble would look dapper in a blue harness! Any harness I have tried he acts like he can’t walk for a bit and falls over. We’ll see if this is different!

  8. So glad they make a vegan version. I don’t care about the colour so long as it’s vegan. Thank you!

  9. That is such a great leash! I have an older cat who loves to go outside but her harness has Velcro and it is impossible to get rid of all the fur stuck in it!

  10. Thank you for the opportunity to win one of these wonderful harnesses! The deep blue is beautiful and would be perfect for my grey tabby or ginger cat who would love to go on a “walk about”.
    Thanks again, all the best

  11. I’d really like to provide outdoor time for my cat. I live in an apartment so can’t get a catio. I’m struggling to find a quality harness that he cannot escape from that also does not have velcro, so I’d like to try this Supakit cat harness.

  12. Think this would be wonderful for one very energetic cat that would love some outdoor time! Great colors, my choice would be the deep blue vegan harness and deep blue matching leash.

  13. This looks nice! One of our cats loves to go outside in his harness & leash but it’s awful getting that off of him because it’s very strong velcro on the bottom. This sounds much easier. Love the vegan cork deep blue harness and deep blue rope leash. Cool color! :)-

  14. I would love to try this with my Minnie cat. She doesn’t fit right in any harness I’ve tried so far. I’m loathe to spend the price though. Winning this would be awesome.

  15. I would want the teal leather harness with the teal leash. I think that would compliment my long hair black cat MaggieMae. She loves taking walks and this would be perfect.
