8-year-old tortie Alexis, who lives in Vienna, Austria with her human Anika Moritz, a feline behaviorist and trainer. Alexis holds the Guinness World Record for most tricks performed by a cat in one minute. Alexis performed 26 tricks in that period of time!

Anika has had Alexis since she was a kitten and started training her at just 12 weeks old. According to Anika, Alexis is trusting, loves to cuddle, but also appreciates her freedom. Anika believes Alexis is her “once in a lifetime cat”. “We are doing tricks since she is a kitten and she loves trick time so much. I would say that it is our passion,” Anika said.

For more about Anika trained Alexis to achieve this record and some wonderful photos of the pair, please visit Guinness World Records.

I love that Anika embarked on setting this record because she wanted to change the view most people have of cats. “Cats are not just a decoration for the living room,” she told Guinness World Records. “Cats are small tigers, who love to interact with other cats and a human being. They also love being kept busy with playing, food puzzles or/and trick training.”

I think Allegra and I have some work to do…

My cats haven’t been trained to do the things I want them to do, but I have certainly been trained by them to do the things they want me to do!

All of us do a trick for a treat but all on the bed. Rumpy has now started catching his treats elsewhere. He is up to 9 in a row and the misses are due to my throw. Is that a category we wonder

This is impressive. Alexis is one smart kitty. I have never tried to teach my cats tricks, but this makes me want to.

Unbelievable as a majority of cat owners let alone common non cat owners alway’s assume that their cute pet cat’s are just untrainable unlike dogs.A few freak cases of trained cat’s are exhibited at “Cat Circus’s” , the most famous being in Russia.Never ever knew there was a “GUINNESS WORLD RECORD” for “Cat Tricks Obediance”. Ahoy !

That was AMAZING! I could probably do maybe 5 or 6 tricks in a minute. My human and I have work to do!
