Mews and Nips: Tortie Rescued from Drain Pipe

tortoiseshell-cat-drainpipe

A family on a camping trip in Washington State found a small tortie inside a drain pipe along the side of the road. They brought the emaciated cat to their RV and took her home after the weekend. A few days later, Caci the tortie gave birth to six kittens. The babies needed to be bottlefed initially, but as Caci became stronger, she was able to nurse the kittens. The kittens have already found new homes, but Caci is still waiting for her purrfect forever home. For more about this beautiful family and wonderful photos, visit LoveMeow.

If you missed any of the stories featured on the Conscious Cat this week, here’s a recap: on Sunday, we launched our much anticipated annual Holiday Gift Guide, on Monday, we reported on how the Assisi Loop helped a cat who survived the Camp Fire with multiple serious health issues, on Tuesday, we reviewed Sheer Fun for Cats, on Wednesday, I shared a memory of Ruby and her run in with some computer cables, and on Friday, we reviewed Paws for the Good Stuff: A Cat Lover’s Journal for Creating a Pawsitively Purrfect Life. And don’t forget to enter our giveaway to win a copy of P.S. I Love You More Than Tuna for yourself, and one to give to a friend!

Today’s video features an adorable conversation between a cat and his human, and I swear you can hear him say “nothing!”

Have a great weekend!

I’m so glad those people came along when they did to save Caci.
