A Christmas Gift from Bob Premieres November 6

A Christmas Gift From Bob is the sequel to the 2016 movie A Street Cat Named Bob. I’ve been a fan of James Bowen and his Street Cat Named Bob ever since the first book was published in 2012.

This rags to riches story of an orange cat changing James Bowen’s life from down on his luck drug addict to bestselling author touched my heart in a big way, and I’ve been following the pair ever since. Watching the journey of these two soul mates was pure joy – until Bob passed away in June. My heart broke for James. It’s always devastating when a soul cat dies, but when the cat is also a “public figure,” it takes grieving to a different level.

We get to revisit the magic that was Bob in this new movie, which is both prequel and sequel to the 2016 film.

Luke Treadaway resumes his role as James Bowen. The role of Bob is played by several different cats, but Bob was involved in the filming last last year and was on the set to oversee his “doubles.”

I’m looking forward to the movie, but it will be bittersweet to watch. I found myself tearing up even just watching the trailer.

A Christmas Gift from Bob is scheduled for release in cinemas and online in the UK on November 6. No US release date was available at this writing.

I read Bob the Street Cat years ago when it came out. Cried like a baby.
    RIP Bob.

I also cannot wait to see this movie. Originally we were going to attend the premiere in London but as we all know the pandemic has changed our plans. My heart is with James.
