Mews and Nips: Cat Family Found in Abandoned Car Finds Forever Homes

cat-with-kitten

We need all the feel good stories we can get these days, and this one hits the mark. Earlier this year, a sanitation worker in East Harlem, NY heard meowing coming from an impounded car. He discovered a mom and her kittens nestling on the back seat. He took the little family to Little Wanderers NYC, where they were fostered until the kittens were old enough to be adopted out. Mama LaBelle was patiently waiting for someone to give her her own forever home, all the while giving everyone in her foster home lots of love and snuggles. Last week, her dream came true: she found her own permanent home. Visit LoveMeow for the full story and adorable photos of LaBelle and her kittens.

If you missed any of the stories featured on the Conscious Cat this week, here’s a recap: on Sunday, I offered some suggestions on how to let go of what you can’t control about the pandemic, on Monday, we told you about pica, also known as “wool sucking,” on Tuesday, we featured the whimsical art of Lili Di Prima, who created a beautiful custom portrait of Ruby for me, on Wednesday, we took as science-based look at why it’s unlikely that cats can be infected by the novel coronavirus, on Thursday, we featured one of my go to products for odor control, and on Friday, I shared that one of my all time favorite books, Weather Menders, is now available as an audiobook.

Today’s video brings a little bit of sweetness into your life – enjoy!

Have a great weekend!

I’m glad Mama LaBelle and her babies were rescued and finally got homes. The video of the two cats is so cute.
