Pumpkin, an orange and white cat who lives near a Tesco supermarket in Norwich, UK, became an “unexpected item in the bagging area.” The cat was a regular for well over a year before the shop tried to ban the kitty. A spokesperson for the store told the BBC that it was not really possible for a store to ban a cat and admitted Pumpkin would probably continue his visits. For more about Pumpkin, visit BBC.com.

If you missed any of the stories featured on the Conscious Cat this week, here’s a recap: on Monday, Dr. Lynn Bahr answered reader questions, on Tuesday, we reviewed the Castle Cat Bed from Aqua Terra Pet Decor, on Wednesday, I shared a memory of Ruby, and on Friday, we celebrated Valentine’s Day. Today’s video continues the theme of “cats in unexpected places.” Oh, to be as chill as this kitty! Then again, his human’s beautiful music may have something to do with it.

Have a great weekend!

  1. Most grocery stores have pumpkins – what’s the big deal ?

Good for the girl who worked in the garden section !

  2. When I first moved into the town I live in now, 20 years ago, the Walmart by us used to have a cat in the garden section. They even kept a bed at one of the registers for him. I used to enjoy going to Walmart back then knowing I would see the sweet little guy. When his bed was gone one day, I asked about him and they said he got hit by a car, but was ok. One of the girls that worked there decided it was time for him to be their inside only kitty and took him home with her.
