A raw diet is one of the best ways to fulfill cats’ nutritional requirements. There are numerous benefits from feeding a raw diet to your cat, including improved digestion, reduced stool odor and volume, increased energy, ability to maintain ideal weight, better dental health, and better urinary tract health.

Embraced for decades by holistically oriented pet parents and holistic veterinarians, more pet parents are looking to raw feeding as an alternative to feeding highly processed food.

About Raw Paws Pet Food

Raw Paws’ mission is to make it practical, affordable, and accessible for pet parents to provide their furry family members with the healthiest pet food, treats, chews, supplements and more. All of their products are sourced in the US from responsible and ethical farms, and are hormone, antibiotic and GMO free. Their products are minimally processed and don’t contain any additives or fillers.

Raw Paws Signature Blend Complete Turkey Patties for Dogs and Cats

We received the Raw Paws Signature Blend Complete Turkey Patties for Dogs and Cats. This blend is all meat – no veggies added with a ratio of 80% meat, 10% organ and 10% ground in bone.

This blend, even though labeled for both cats and dogs, contains appropriate levels of naturally occurring taurine for cats, who have higher taurine requirements than dogs.

The convenient 8 oz patties make portioning simple.

Putting Raw Paws Pet Food to the test

The 8 oz patties arrived in a 10 pound cryo-vaccuum sealed bag inside a well insulated container on dry ice, and were frozen solid on arrival.

Raw Paws suggests thawing the 10 pound pack in the refrigerator for 24-48 hours. Once partially thawed, you can separate the patties and refreeze what you’re not going to use within the next 3 to 4 days .The portion size works great for us, since 8 ounces is one day’s worth of food for the girls.

Raw Paws ground turkey does have bone ground in, but I did not see any visible fragments (something that has been an issue for me with some other brands in the past.) I like that the food contains no veggies or other fillers.

Allegra and Ruby both loved the food – our initial test resulted in clean plates for both of them. Since they’re not always receptive to change when it comes to their meals, that’s a testament to the palatability of the food.

In addition to the 8 ounce patties, Raw Paws also offers 1 pound and 5 pound chubs.

Raw Paws Pet Food ships nationwide with free shipping on orders over $49 for non-frozen items, and orders over $199 for frozen items.

I wanted to transition my cats to raw and I tried many things. I found the Raw Paws freeze raw chicken on Amazon and my cats loved it. I have been a repeat buyer for a certain time and my cats are happy.

Raw Paws looks like a good option for dogs, but the recommended bone content for cats is usually 8%, not 10%. And some say 6%. So, not the best option for cats?

I think it’s a good brand, although I’d prefer to not see all the veggies in it.
