No matter how much we learn about cats, it seems that they always remain mysterious. In a recent interview with Scientific American, renowned cat expert and anthrozoologist John Bradshaw, the author of Cat Sense: How the New Feline Science Can Make You a Better Friend to Your Pet,  answered some of the questions that have been vexing cat parents since cats became domesticated. Why do cats knock objects off tables? Do cats get jealous? What do cats think of their humans? Visit Scientific American to read Bradshaw’s answers to these and many other questions.

If you missed any of the stories featured on the Conscious Cat this week, here’s a recap: on Monday we interviewed Ellen Carozza, LVT, and we also shared the sad news that Rad Cat Raw Diet shut down production, on Tuesday, I shared my opinion on Halloween costumes for cats, on Wednesday, we introduce the new Cat Amazing EPIC! puzzle toy, and on Friday, we reviewed The Allergic Pet: Holistic Solutions to End the Allergy Epidemic in Our Dogs and Cats. And don’t forget to enter our giveaway for a limited edition Sleepypod Mobile Pet Bed in glacier grey!

  1. This was such a wonderful post. That video that you shared is just amazing. Love seeing their paws come out of one of the pyramid openings to whack you with their paw. Looks like such a fun time for them. Thanks for the share. Have a great rest of your weekend.
