Cats come in all shapes and sizes, and I Am a Cat explores this topic with lovely illustrations and a story that is both entertaining and educational.

From the publisher:

A simple housecat named Simon encounters some bigger cats: Lion, Puma, Panther, Tiger, and Cheetah. Each of the big cats has something to say about Simon not being “cat” enough. According to them, he just doesn’t measure up. He doesn’t have Lion’s mane or Cheetah’s spots. He doesn’t sleep in trees like Panther or climb mountains like Puma. He’s small and fuzzy, not big and strong. But ultimately, Simon shows the big cats that he’s just like them . . . only smaller.

Aimed at children of preschool age, this beautifully illustrated story of a small cat who is wanting to belong and play with the big cats offers a springboard for discussions about similarities and differences.

I am an adult with a rare birth defect that causes short leg (s) and a small foot. I posted this book in our FH webpage so the parents could use it with their kids who share my birth defect.
