Mews and Nips: Wonk Cat makes American University Campus Her Home

Who know what the beautiful tuxedo cat was thinking when she picked the campus of American University in Washington DC as her new home? The Washington Post speculates that maybe she was just “kicking around the idea of a political science major. Or considering a career in international affairs. Maybe she just realized that a lot of college kids eat chicken fingers, which they might be willing to part with if a fluffy, four-footed friend came along.” At any rate, the  cat, named Wonk Cat by students, has become a fixture on campus. For more about Wonk Cat, visit the Washington Post.

If you missed any of the stories featured on the Conscious Cat this week, here’s a recap: on Sunday, we featured an essay on why love always wins, on Monday, cat behaviorist Mikel Delgado answered reader questions, on Tuesday, we reported on how cat carriers are crash tested, on Wednesday, mystery author Clea Simon introduced us to her new tortie kitten, and on Friday, we reviewed Clea’s newest mystery, Cross My Path. And don’t forget to enter our giveaway for a Tail It Pet GPS tracker!
