Cat Journals and Notebooks

Do you keep a journal? Do you still take notes by hand? I do both. As much as I love my computer and tablet, I feel that when it comes to journaling, there’s something about writing by hand that enhances the benefits of the practice. As for note taking, I find that I retain more when I take notes by hand, and there are actually some studies that support this.

And of course, note taking and journaling is way more fun when you do it in cat-themed journals or notebooks! I’ve rounded up a few favorites for you.

I love cat journals. I own Cats Journal published by the Peter Pauper Press. After reading this post I ordered the Cat Tales journal published by the same great folks. I have used my current journal to write down memories and thoughts about my beloved 16 year old cat, Queenie, who went to the Rainbow Bridge last July. It has been very therapeutic and also allows me to not forget all those great memories of the time I had with her.

I’m sorry about Queenie, Cynthia. I always journaled after losing cats, and I found it to be an important part of the healing process. And of course, in Buckley’s case, those journal entries ended up turning into a book 🙂

Those are cute notebooks. I don’t keep a journal, but I use a small notebook to keep track of what I have scheduled for my blog.

Always thought about keeping a journal, but never did. May give it a try. Especially with a cat journal/notebook.
