Mews and Nips: Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever Premieres on Lifetime

It was inevitable. Grumpy Cat’s meteoric rise to internet fame has now resulted in a full feature movie, Grumpy Cat’s Worst Christmas Ever, which will premiere on Lifetime this Saturday. I love holiday movies, and adored Hallmark’s The Nine Lives of Christmas, but based on the previews, I don’t expect much from this movie. I’ll probably still be watching, if nothing else, out of curiosity, and I hope the previews will prove me wrong. I don’t begrudge Grumpy Cat or her humans her fame,  I just don’t like the idea of this sweet little cat being used like a prop to generate ratings for Lifetime.  You can find more information about the movie on Will you be watching?

If you missed any of the stories featured on The Conscious Cat this week, here’s a recap: on Monday, we told you what to look for when choosing a cat boarding facility to  reduce stress for cats, on Tuesday, we reviewed a super fun new app that allows you to create storybooks featuring your cats, and we informed you of a cat food recall, on Wednesday, we featured Michelle Wollf’s custom portraits of Allegra and Ruby, and on Friday, I shared my memories of Buckley on the sixth anniversary of her passing. We also reviewed the new and expanded edition of Catsong by T.J. Banks.

We all know cats (and the occasional dog) are fascinated with boxes and other small spaces. Today’s video just goes to prove that “if it fits, it sits!”

Have a great weekend!

I totally agree. I feel like her owners are just using the poor kitty as a prop to gain fame. I dont like it.
