Review and Giveaway: The Jackson Galaxy Collection by Petmate

Jackson_Galaxy_collection_Petmate

I got a first look at the new Jackson Galaxy Collection from Petmate at Global Pet Expo in March, and again at Superzoo in July. I couldn’t wait to get my  hands on some of the products for Allegra and Ruby, so the girls and I were excited when the package from Petmate arrived last week. We got to test the Mojo Maker Ground and Air Wands, and the Natural Playtime toy assortment.

The wands were an immediate hit – I could barely get them out of the packaging before the girls started pouncing after the toys. The Ground Wand features a telescoping wand with a rope toy attachment, the Air Wand features the same wand with a retractable feather attachment so you can adjust the length. I had a  hard time getting decent photos and video because the girls were so crazy about these toys that they moved much too fast for me to capture their exuberance properly. I wasn’t able to get any video of Ruby, who raced and jumped after these wand toys like a possessed kitten, but managed to shoot the brief video of Allegra below:

I don’t know who loves the Natural Playtime assortment more: me, or the girls. Made from all natural materials in bright colors that cats can see, these toys are truly the cat’s meow. Allegra is particularly fascinated with the sisal spiral toy. Ruby prefers the little ball. They both seem to like the orange mouse equally, it keeps disappearing and reappearing all over the house.

It is poorly made the wires attaching it all but one broke with in a few days.

I am currently needing to use a rubber band to keep it together.

If any one knows of a better made wand please let me know

Have you tried the Neko Flies wand toys, Jim? We’ve had ours for several years and they’re still going strong: http://amzn.to/1SrirbD

We always need interactive toys around here, so the kitties can practice their hunting skills, just in case a tasty bird or mousie sneaks in the house!

I’m always looking for new ways to entertain my cats, so I’d love to give these toys a try! And I’m sure the book will give me lots of new ways of looking at my house as a cat space.

My cats are bored with the usual feathers on a stick and the balls I can buy at the pet store. These toys might pique thier interest and get them playing again. My overweight cat needs the exercise and I have a hard time keeping her interest on the toys I currently have. My cats tend to spend a lot of time alone and many times appear to be depressed. I’m hoping these toys would help their mental state as well as their physical well-being.

I have four cats and they just got a cat tower and I welcome any chance I have to interact with my cats. Also, I would love to get Jackson’s book and incorporate his ideas into my home for a richer environment for my furbabies. Thank you for your reviews as it helps me when getting items for mine.

I have three new rescued kitties and I am always looking for new ways to entertain these guys … they are very active and still are adjusting … first got the two boy tabby’s and then got a long haired fluffy calico girl … they are still working out who’s the boss for the most part they get along pretty good … Catification would help with making sure they are getting what they need as individuals to be happy.

My husband and I lost the second of our two cats back in August, and have now been cat-less for way too long. We are still grieving, but feel it’s time to start looking for the “right” cat for us. We would love to be able to welcome a new cat with some great new toys. And Catification will help us create a better environment for the soon-to-be love of our lives.

To be honest – Since I deal with SAD [as darkness will set in late afternoon soon], in turn my cat has to deal with both the long winter months AND me. WE would love this <3 <3

I’m a fan of Jackson Galaxy and have learned so much about cats, even though I’ve had them for over 45 years. I’d love to win the book and toys, so I can make my cats environment even better.

I’ve already bought the book (it’s fabulous!) but if I win I’d donate it to my favorite animal shelter, Citizens for Animal Protection in Houston. The toys – my six cats would ADORE them!!!
