I spent three days last week at the Gaylord Resort in National Harbor, MD, just outside of Washington, DC, with almost 4,000 veterinarians (yes, you read that right), veterinary technicians and veterinary practice managers at the Central Veterinary Conference. CVC offers premium educational programming, expert clinical education, hands-on labs and workshops, practice management programs, and team training sessions. I attended lectures on various feline medicine topics; I’ll be sharing what I learned with you in the weeks and months to come.
I also reconnected with old friends from the veterinary world. It was a little bit like stepping back in time for me. I worked in various facets of the veterinary profession for twelve years. I did everything from cleaning cages to answering phones to giving injections and placing catheters, and managed a veterinary hospital for eight of those twelve years. And I made some new friends, including Willie, the one-eyed cat, who attended lectures with his human, veterinarian Jennifer Eachus, DVM. Willie even has his own Facebook page. You’ll be hearing more about him soon.
