Giveaway: Cat Food and Treats from The Honest Kitchen

Honest Kitchen

When it comes to feeding our cats, less processed is better. The ultimate diet for an obligate carnivore like the cat is a raw diet, but not every cat guardian is comfortable with the concept. Dehydrated raw diets are an easy way to get the benefits of a raw, minimally processed diet. Cooking at high temperatures destroys many of the nutrients and enzymes in food. Dehydration helps lock in the freshness of the ingredients, resulting in very little loss of nutrients and enzymes.

The Honest Kitchen has been one of the leaders in the dehydrated raw food industry since 2002. Founder Lucy Postin started the company in her own kitchen, where she was looking to find a diet that would help her dog Mosi’s ear and skin problems. When she saw the results in Mosi, she realized that other pets could benefit, too, and a company was born.

We’re giving away three of The Honest Kitchen’s products for you to try:

  • a 2 pound box of Prowl, an all natural grain-free cat food made with free range chicken, eggs and produce like sweet potatoes, spinach and cranberries.
  • a box of Pro Bloom, shelf-stable instant goat’s milk with digestive enzymes & probiotics
  • a bag of Smittens treats. Smittens are high-protein, low fat treats made from pure, wild, line-caught Haddock from the pristine waters off the coast of Iceland.

I’m always on the look out for better food for my kitties. While one cat would love nothing more than to have raw meats all the time, the other cat is a little more picky. She actually prefers kibble. So I’ve tried a lot of different ‘raw’ diets to see if she’d eat any, so something new to try would be awesome!

I’d love to win this! I’m currently unemployed and my cats could use the food not to mention they’d appreciate the treats! Plus it’s high quality.

I’d love to win this because I’m a very financially unfortunate university student with two gorgeous kittens who would love to try the gourmet experience.

Thanks to your informative website, I began transitioning my 2 kitties from dry kibble to wet this past year. I supplement the high quality canned with RAW frozen. Today, I was at my local pet store so the cupboard would not be bare and asked about this highly recommended dehydrated raw food. They were out of it, but will be getting a delivery next Tuesday and I’ll pick up some then. It would be good karma to win this package from Honest Kitchen!!

We feed our cats high quality cat food which, of course, cannot be bought in supermarkets or huge box stores like Walmart. We know that well nourished cats are usually healthier. Almost all of our cats, including four black cats, are permanent rescue cats (PRC) who were formerly ferals. We have three FIV+ formerly feral males who are nine years old and doing well. My web site, nobadcat.com is a personal non-commercial site dedicated to cats.

Wow, fantastic giveaway! I’d love to try this for our guys. The idea of transitioning them to a raw food diet is rather daunting but very desirable. This product seems like a wonderful intermediate step. Thank yo for the giveaway 🙂
