There were a lot of innovative new cat litters at Global Pet Expo, from alternative litters made from corn, recycled paper and walnuts to more environmentally friendly and lighter weight clay litters. One of the most intriguing new litters I saw was the new Simple Solution 30-Day Litter.

I’m well aware of the controversy around clay litter, but I’ve found that many cats don’t like the alternative litters. And no matter how much the human “in charge” may like the idea of these more environmentally friendly litters, ultimately, the cat calls the shots!

Simple Solutoin 30-Day Litter is a clay litter, but unlike traditional bentonite clay litters, it is made from attapulgite clay, a unique lightweight mineral that attaches to, absorbs and traps moisture and odor from both urine and feces. According to the manufacturer, this litter is 300% more absorbent than regular litter, and, since it’s not a clumping litter, you only have to scoop feces. Urine is simply absorbed by the litter. The litter is lighter weight than regular clay litter, and the texture is softer, which makes it gentler on sensitive kitty paws. It also tracks less than regular litter.

This product has some dust, but not any more than some of the premium low-dust clay litters, and definitely less than some of the alternative litters. A 15-pound box should last an entire month, which will mean less money spend on replenishing the entire box with fresh litter.

And it’s pink!

I liked everything about this litter, except the fragrance. The litter has a nice fresh scent, but I’m highly sensitive to scented products and can’t use anything scented around my home. As much as I wanted to like this product, I found the scent overpowering. I hope that Simple Solution will come out with an unscented version of this product. However, if you and your cats don’t mind scented litters, then this litter could be a great choice for you. And here’s your chance to try it for yourself:

Simple Solution Cat Litter Attractant and
Urinary Health Risk Indicator

Simple Solutions also sent me their Cat Litter Attractant and Urinary Health Risk Indicator products. The Cat Litter Attractant is a natural herb blend designed to help prevent and correct litter box problems. The Urinary Health Risk Indicator is a litter additive that will change color to reveal possible urinary tract health issues. I did not test these products, but saw them demonstrated at Global Pet Expo. I was impressed by the Urinary Health Risk Indicator. The dramatic color change makes it easy for cat guardians to detect problems early.

87 Comments on Review and Giveaway: Simple Solution 30-Day Litter

  1. This would be a great item to win because our Jynxx loves his water and is always running to the litter box.

  2. I would love to win this litter. I’m always trying new litters that work for my 11 cats and for me.. The lightweight litters I’ve already tried are only light weight until used. The clumps are large and heavy, I would really like to try this one that has no urine clumps.

  3. I am thrilled to hear about this new litter. If it would help with the order I definitely will buy it. Nothing worse than the smell of the cat box. And it is pink! WOW

  4. Id like to win this litter cause I share a 9 x 11 room with a cat and her litter box and it can get stinky, fast.

  5. I have 6 cats and would love to try this litter. I walked past it at Walmart and I liked the scent from the box. With my asthma I have to be careful of the litter I get – too much dust or scent can send me into an attack.

  6. We have 5 cats here and less scooping would be a dream come true…. Please let us try this.. if we like it we would be in debted for life!!

  7. We would really love to try this litter. As we are taking care of about 40 cats at the moment, it would be such a big help to find a good litter that would last and, perhaps, save us some money that we could put towards helping more cats. Thank you!

  8. darn. I, like you, am very sensitive to highly scented litters.. other than that it does sound interesting, but the proof would be in the pudding – as they say – in that would a cat use it for 30 days and not be offended by the smell of 30 day old litter…

  9. Happy homecoming anniversary, Ruby! I would like to win this great Simple Solution litter giveaway for my boy Smokey, to see if he likes it. It would probably be a “fresh” experience for him, as I usually buy the economical litter choices. Thank you!

  10. I’d love to try Simple Solutions. My cat, Frankie, just hates other litters and throws it all over the floor…even with his igloo litter pan. He is 14 years old and deserves a better litter!

  11. Sound’s like a purrrrfect product for my Cookie. Last longer and spending less on liter means can afford more catnip =^..^=

  12. A litter would have to be pretty darn good, for me to consider changing from Precious Cat Litter. With this one being scented… not going to happen. 🙁

  13. Would love to try this litter. Not sure about it being scented but it might be ok. I’ve tried a ton of different litters and because of my and my cat’s allergies we always end up back at using the Petco clumping litter that you can refill containers.

  14. I was going to enter this giveaway because we’re always looking for just the right litter, but now I say give it to Mary Mazowiecki. It’s expensive to take care of pets, and it sounds like she would benefit from the free sample and from finding out if it really lasts 30 days. Hang in there, Mary, and give your kitties a kiss from me.

  15. I want to win purely for curiosity sake – no pee clumps and no pee stink? Huh???? I’m currently a swheat scoop and worlds best user.

  16. I would love to win and review this litter. I have a torn meniscus and a lot of back problems. Scooping, and lugging litter up stairs is very difficult for me and painful. I would love to have a litter that needs less care while still providing a clean environment for my girl! Money is also an issue, so I’m hoping it isn’t very expensive to purchase.

  17. Pink litter!? Marilyn Monroe would LOVE that! My family of furries is comprised of 6 (yes 6!) rescue kitties…which means we have (drumroll please) TEN litter boxes. That’s a lot of scooping! We’d love to try this out!

  18. Since I am on disability I have a very limited income. A litter that lasts 30 days would be very efficient. My cats and I are good with scented litter. I have a senior cat that has problems with his urinary tract, it would be great to find a urinary problem early. I love that it is pink.

  19. I would love to win this. We are constantly trying to find a better litter! And this one…only change every 30 days! Wow!!

  20. I really want to win this litter because it would be wonderful to try a litter that you only change every 30 days. I will happily review the litter and recommend it to all of my friends and family.

  21. As a lifetime cat owner who is now retired, I am always looking for products that might make caring for my “children” a bit easier. I hope to be able to review the litter, and if it is good as it sounds, I will spread the word to the many cat owners I know.
