Review: Spenser Pets Self-Warming Cat Bed

Allegra and Ruby are always eager to assist with product reviews, but reviewing the self-warming cat bed from Spenser Pets was the first time I asked them to be asleep on the job – and they were very happy to oblige!

Spenser Pets believes that pet furniture should be as stylish as people furniture, and they’ve certainly achieved that goal with this beautiful cat bed. Ruby asked for the pink color (well, okay, I did!).

The beds come in two sizes, with a 12 inch and a 14 inch diameter. We got the larger size. They have a self-warming insert that radiates the cat’s body heat back to the cat, which makes them much safer than heated beds, which can overheat and even cause burns. The high walls create a secure space for cats. The bed is super soft and plush. The cover is made from 100% cotton and can be removed for washing.

It did not take long at all for the girls to use the bed. Spenser Pets recommends placing the bed in an area where your cats already like to sleep to get them to accept it, but I didn’t even get a chance to do that. I had put the bed on the floor in the living room and got distracted. By the time I came back, Allegra was testing the bed. “Nothing to see here, Mom. I’m comfy. Carry on.”

Ruby put the bed to its ultimate test with a long after dinner nap.

I liked everything about this bed: the generous size, the pretty design, and the fact that the girls took to it so quickly. Allegra and Ruby give the bed four paws up.

The beds come in a variety of colors and fabrics. For more information, and to purchase, please visit the Spenser Pets Etsy Shop. You can also find Spenser Pets on Facebook. They’re still growing their Facebook page, so why not pop over and give them a “like?”

But it’s 2019 now and the website has been shut down for 2 years.

The bed sure does look crinkly warm and perfect to bridge the weather from cold to warm, which I hope happens very soon for everyone.

that is definitely an attractive bed, LOVE the heat that the cat radiates, being directed back at the cat! Purrfect!

Allegra and Ruby, you look quite elegant in the new bed. A couple of my kitties would love this! They have some beds right now but they don’t use them much. They like the couch and my bed. I think since this one has heat a couple of mine, especially Meeko and Cisco, would love it. They both like to snuggle up to me to be warm. They lay in front of the heater too.

What a cool bed. I always wondered if they really worked. Thanks for your review.

I have been wanting to get one of these for my senior kitty, but am concerned that the crinkling noise would keep him from going in it. Did the crinkling sound seem to be any factor in your home?

I actually didn’t even notice the crinkling until you asked that question, Janet! This bed definitely crinkles a lot less than other self-warming pet beds I’ve seen. It certainly didn’t bother the girls.
