Fountains are a great way to encourage cats to drink more water. Water is critical to keeping your cat healthy. While cats get moisture from a raw or canned diet, they should still have plenty of fresh water available at all times. Cats as a species don’t have a high thirst drive, and this can lead to chronic low-level dehydration if a cat is fed mostly dry food, which in turn, can lead to urinary tract and kidney problems.

The problem with many inexpensive fountains is that they’re made from plastic. Plastic can harbor bacteria even after regular cleaning. Ceramic fountains are much easier to clean, and safer for your cats. Drinkwell fountains were designed by a veterinarian, and have been available in plastic, stainless steel (with some plastic parts) and partial ceramic. Last year, Drinkwell came out with two models that are 100% ceramic.

The Pagoda Cat Fountain is larger than the previous models. It continuously recirculates 70 ounces of fresh, filtered water. The upper and lower dishes provide two drinking areas for pets, and the patented dual free-falling streams aerate the water for freshness. Like all Drinkwell models, it features replaceable foam filters to catch cat hair and other debris. The fountain’s pump is quiet, and easy to clean.

MyThreeCats.com offers the Pagoda Fountain on sale for $89.95. You can also purchase replacement filters for the fountain.

242 Comments on Giveaway: Drinkwell All-Ceramic Pagoda Cat Fountain from MyThreeCats.com

  1. Years ago I bought a table-top fountain for decoration. The cats immediately claimed it for their own water dish, and have used it ever since. I would love to have another fountain for a different spot in the house so that there is more than one option for a drink with running water. I encourage everyone to offer an option of running drinking water to their cats. Running water is a great addition to your living space – it helps hydrate the air, its sounds are soothing, and most of all, your cats will love drinking from it!

  2. My cat loves to drink from a slow running faucet. A Drinkwell Fountain would certainly assist in managing my cats daily water requirements.

  3. I have 4 cats, 2 who drink a lot of water and this would be great for them!!! I’d love to win this and have a water feature in their room!!!!

  4. I need this for my 6 kitties!!! Rocky had a blockage of the urethra a few years ago and I am constantly worried that he (or 1 of the others) will get sick again. I can’t handle another 3 days of my Rockster (or anyone else) in the kitty hospital…Not to mention the $$$$$!

  5. Awesome giveaway. I would love this because I have an older style Drinkwell that my cats love, but it’s plastic and gets really dirty..ceramic is just so much more hygenic.

  6. I am looking for cat product giveaways so Luna can make review videos on those products and post them on her facebook page. Her birthday is in 3 weeks, so I am trying to get as many products by then as I can.
She rarely drinks from her cute water dish, drinks out of the dogs’ water dish a bit more often, and is almost ALWAYS on the top of my aquarium drinking out of the filtration system. She seems to love the running water.
I thought, this would be a great product for Luna’s first review, and it will help stop her from drinking from my aquarium!

  7. I’d love to get this for my diabetic foster kitties, who drink a lot, even though they’re insulin controlled. I love my ceramic fountain from Glacier and would love to give another ceramic model a try!

  8. My 4 kitties would love a drinking fountain, especially this new Drinkwell ceramic one! Especially Kensey, who loves to drink from the bathtub faucet!

  9. I’d like to have this for our 3 cats. I haven’t tried a fountain before but it seems like it would be healthy, and I’d have to replace their water a lot less often!

  10. My cats had a cheap waterer a few years ago and loved it until it broke 🙁 this one seems very nice and exactly what I’ve been looking for lately! Shared on Facebook also !

  11. I would like to have another water fountain for my kitties as I believe they are good for cats and dogs. I used to have 3 as I was doing rescues and saw the need and likes the charcoal filter as the facet water in the part of texas I was in, I didn’t think was healthy .When I was going to move back to Kansas city to be closer to my aging mother I re-homed all but the last 12 and since I was devoted to my kitties and quite capable of caring for these last cats my husband and I were keeping these last one. I think the fountains keep the cats healthier and encourage them to drink more water, therefore staving off urinary tract infections.
Unfortunately I lost my husband a week after he had a huge work up at the VA hospital to see ironically if he was healthy enough to use exercise equipment they were going to provide him.I found him dead in our bed almost a week to the day. To say that it was a devastating blow would not even cover what I was feeling. They found him blocked 100% on one side of his heart and 75% on the other side and for the life of me I can not figure out how they did not catch that. I am still fighting with the VA for my widows benefits, and I knew right after he died that I would have a huge fight on my hands because that is how they are.
I had to do what I thought was right for my precious kitties who were like children to me, some I had rescued from appalling situations, some who were dumped. I had to make sure they had a place to go because at that point I wasn’t sure where I was going to be living, as my wonderful but sometimes not so diligent husband assumed his life insurance was being taken out of his monthly 100% permanent disability that the military had labeled him. And you know what happens when you assume. I working with various rescues to help me home 10 of my babies. I kept the black and oldest kitties because as I am sure you know that black cats are harder to place and more likely to be abused. I donated all but one of my fountains that I had, and unfortunately that has finally given out on me, and the now 3 cats that I have. I recently added a Siamese rescue due to the age of my other cats and the fact that I don’t deal with loss very well right now. I really wanted to bring a young one in. And as I still feed my kitties the best holistic dry and wet food as I feel in the long run it helps to keep them healthier and I have been so far very right about that money is tight, I mean I get by, but a fountain is considered a luxury to me right now.
Thank you very much for letting me ramble on, and on 🙂 Cathy Reed

  12. this would be great for my kitten mary, maybe she wouldn’t have to hop in the shower directly after i’m finished to drink the leftover water.

  13. My older cats loves to put his paw in the water and drink that way but both of my cats like it ice cold and so this would be great to win for them

  14. Great giveaway, thank you! I would enjoy winning this fountain because I’ve been wanting to add another water station at a second location in the house. The cats love the fountain in the kitchen and it would be terrific to add one in the sunroom.

  15. My cats love drinking fresh water! They would love this fountain…and it’s so pretty, I would, too!

  16. My cats love their plastic drinking fountain but it is tough to get it perfectly clean. This ceramic one sounds like it will make wonderfully cold water and be easy to clean.

  17. My bathroom sink faucet used to drip all the time and the cats just loved it. They seemed rather perturbed when I finally had it fixed! Now the bathtub faucet is dripping 🙁

It would be nice to have a fountain like this so I can get my bathtub replaced without feeling too guilty.

  18. My Midnight Loves Drinking From A Fountain Rather Than A Dish (Which He Scoots) The Fountain Would Be Beneficial To Him
