Review: Aikiou Stimulo Interactive Feeder and Puzzle Toy

Puzzle toys are a great way to keep your cats entertained and mentally stimulated when you can’t play with them. The toys are designed to be filled with treats or food, and they challenge kitty to retrieve the treats through varied openings in the toys.

The Akioui (pronounced “eye queue”) offers a new take on these puzzle toys with the Stimulo Interactive Feeder, and Allegra and Ruby got an opportunity to test one for you.

Most puzzle toy manufacturers recommend using dry food with these puzzles. Since I don’t recommend feeding any dry food, not even as treats, I recommend using freeze dried meat based treats such as Pure Bites or Whole Life. I used Pure Bites for our test.

It didn’t take the girls long to figure out what the point of this strange contraption was. Allegra was quick to snag the first few treats, and Ruby soon followed suit. And apparently my girls are not just smart, they’re also lazy, because they took the treats out of the lower cylinders first, then went to work on the high ones. From start to finish, with a little teamwork, it took them about two minutes to empty the Stimulo.

To keep kitties entertained for longer periods of time, simply add more treats. Freeze dried chicken treats are low in calories, but depending on how many you use throughout the day, you may want to adjust the amount of food you feed at meal time.

This fun combination of feeder and activity center is well designed and thought out. It offers a great way to keep cats cats entertained and mentally stimulated. The cylinders are easily removed for cleaning.

Allegra and Ruby give this product four paws up, and I’ll add my two thumbs.

Just bought one of these and received it today. The cats are enjoying it . . while still trying to figure it out. Very cool kitty toy and feeder. Thanks for your review. I would have never heard about this until your review.

Silly question, but did the tubes in your set have a bottom to them? I have heard differing statements and don’t want to get something that’s not cleanable…

Yes, the tubes in our set do have a bottom.

your kitties are soooooo dainty! Cody would have knocked that bad boy over to get everything out as he did with a tiered treat maze that we have. He stood up and knocked that baby right over!! He doesn’t mess around when it comes to food MOL.

The other way to slow them down is to buy the next level tubes set. They are much taller so it takes longer to work the treats up and into the mouth. The basic level gives them the idea of how to do it, but the advanced level makes it more challenging. My cats get a lot more entertainment out of it since we made the upgrade.
