There aren’t many writers who can write well in a cat’s voice, and among those few, Gwen Cooper excels at it in her novel Love Saves the Day. The book is written from three points of view, but the primary narrator is Prudence, a brown tabby rescued from a deserted construction site on Manhattan’s Lower East Side. Prudence is a keen observer of humans and knows them better than they know themselves at times.
I was delighted to see that Prudence now has her own advice column in The Huffington Post. In Dear Prudence, the opinionated brown tabby dispenses her unique brand of advice ranging from counseling a woman whose boyfriend doesn’t like cats to stopping one cat from eating another’s food. Read Dear Prudence (the Advice Cat) on The Huffington Post, and find out how you can submit your questions to Prudence.
If you missed any of the stories featured on The Conscious Cat this week, here’s a recap: on Monday, we let you know about Jackson Galaxy’s new web-based show Cat Mojo, on Tuesday, we introduced you to Honeycat Cosmetics, on Wednesday, we reviewed the new Neko Napper pet house, and on Friday, we reviewed a very funny collection of pet stories titled Pet Sounds. And don’t forget to enter the two giveaways we have going this week: a gift set from Honeycat Cosmetics, and an autographed copy of Pet Sounds.
As far as Nutcracker performances go, this one by Kodi the Cat is more entertaining than most!
Have a great weekend!
