Help The Conscious Cat Win a Third Pettie Award and Win $10,000 for Your Favorite Shelter

Yes, it’s that time of year again! You helped The Conscious Cat win the 2012 Pettie for Best Cat Blog, and the 2011 Pettie for Best Overall Pet Blog. Allegra, Ruby and I would love it if you could help us make it three in a row this year!

Nominating is easy! Simply visit the Petties Nominations Center once a day between now and June 28, and nominate The Conscious Cat for Best Cat Blog and Best Overall Pet Blog (and any other categories you’d like to nominate us for!). Nominate your favorite shelter or rescue group at the same time (must be a non-profit 501c3).

You can log in with your Facebook account, or you can use an e-mail address. You will need the following information:

Nominee URL:

Shelter Nomination for $10K Pre-Petties Donation Contest: enter the name of your favorite shelter or rescue group (must be a non-profit 501C3)

You can nominate once a day, every day, through June 28!
Every nomination counts!

Voting for the nominated blogs will begin on July 5 and close July 31.

The winning bloggers will receive a beautiful statue and a $1000 donation to a shelter or rescue group of their choice. My two Pettie statues are sitting right next to me on my desk as I write this. They provide inspiration every day for me to continue to strive to bring you the best in cat blogging every single day.

Thank you for helping us win our third Pettie Award!

I am nominating your blog daily but can’t seem to nominate the shelter, The space is not taking any type. What am I doing wrong?

Thank you for your daily nominations! Just enter the shelter’s name, not the URL, Debi. If you’re still having problems, please contact Dogtime Media.

My cats–and dogs–said to let you know we are all crossing our paws for you to win, as are all the FFGW kitties who are also hoping that they will win the shelter prize! After consulting with the cats, particularly Buttercup (a stunning tortie who has been waiting for adoption for almost TWO years), and meaning no offense to Ingrid’s inspirational, touching & thought provoking voice, based upon Ruby & Allegra’s guest posts, we are also nominating TCC for funniest blog or blogger.

Done! I’d also like to nominate one of your posts for “Best Blog Post”, but I’m unsure what the rules are. I wanted to use the one on Convenia, but that was in 2011 (boy, does time fly!). I’m guessing it needs to be one written since the 2012 Petties? Do you have a recommendation?

Amy, I’m not sure how I could pick just one. I may be a little biased, but I think most of my posts are award-worthy… 🙂 I do think they’re going to want one from this year, though.

I think they all are, too! If I have a little time, I’ll wander through your posts and see if I can pick one. In the meantime, I nominated Robin Olson’s post called Dear Fred, which is one of the most moving posts I’ve ever read. I’ll be alternating my daily nominations between the two of you!
