We all know that cats rule the internet, and cat videos in particular are hot! And now there seems to be a growing trend of internet cat video festivals. Last year’s first festival at the Walker Center in Minnesota (more than 10,000 people showed up) was such a success that the center is holding another one on August 6 (click here for information and tickets). Oakland, CA is getting in on the fun with its own festival at the Great Wall of Oakland (click here for tickets) on May 11. And this fall, the Internet Cat Video Festival is coming to Brooklyn, NY. If there’s a festival in your area, please leave the information in a comment!

If you missed any of the stories featured on The Conscious Cat this week, here’s a recap: On Monday, we announced the AVMA Foundation’s contest America’s Favorite Vet; on Tuesday, we interviewed author Helen Brown and introduced her foster cat Bono. Wednesday was Ruby’s 2nd adoption anniversary, and we also shared information about important pending legislation that may affect how your cats will be cared for if you’re using a mobile vet. On Friday, we reviewed the new Simon’s Cat book – be sure to enter our giveaway for your own copy. And don’t forget to enter our giveaway for a custom canvas or wood print of your cat from CapThat.

Who says cats and birds don’t get along! Today’s video made me smile -that is one patient cat!

Have a great weekend!
