The search for the perfect litter box can be frustrating for many cat guardians, especially those of us, like yours truly, who live with a vertical pee-er (her name starts with the letter “R”). My search ended when I discovered the NVR Miss™ Litter Box shown above at a cat show two years ago.

For details on why I love this box so much, please read my full review of the NVR Miss™ Litterbox. I haven’t found anything that’s as good as this box (other than ugly homemade versions), and I went through a lot of different boxes when Ruby first came to live with us.

The box comes in taupe and white. The color shown above is the result of an experiment. The company wanted to make some funky colored boxes, so near the end of a production run, they mixed up orange and blue and played around a bit by switching back and forth to see what they would get. The 20 or so boxes that were the end result of the experiment range from blue with orange streaks to the inverse of that, with some of them being absolutely wild looking. Since the experiment happened during the winter, they were named the “Snowflake.”

And now you can win a limited edition Snowflake NVR Miss Litterbox!

231 Comments on Giveaway: NVR Miss Litterbox

  1. My cat has started the same as many of these leaving comments. I now live in a senior complex with carpeting & I cannot keep her if she keeps getting it on the rug

  2. We have 4 cats and 3 of them are seniors. They have varying litter box needs. We have spent so much time cleaning up after the accidents and seeking a solution. I am hopeful that this box will be the answer we seek as we have invested quite a bit of time and money in alternatives that have fallen short on helping with their various litter needs. We have the digger who seems to be trying to put all the litter outside the box. We have the vertical pee’r and the cat who will only stand on hind legs to pee and the delicate flower who is very particular about the fragrance and cleanliness of the box. We do have multiple boxes however we need to have several boxes that will meet the needs of all 4 cats.

  3. I would LOVE this box for my sweet, but very old Chloe. She has recently become a stand up pee-er and at 18 years of age, it is for me to adapt, not HER! This seems to have what I am looking for, high sides but a low “door” so that the old lady can get in and out! the other 2 should love it as well…

  4. We recently took in a kitten who goes number 2 standing up. We want something she can stand up in and have a place for her front paws. She also throws the litter, so this seems like the perfect box for our Alli cat!

  5. My older cat has trouble climbing in thr box this would be easy for her she is 16 years old she would love it thank

  6. What a wonderful idea for a litter box! This would solve the problems I have with a Kitty scratching litter all over and out of her box I know she would love this box

  7. I need this because my Bobcat doesn’t squat and I am forever trying to clean up pee. He is tall and he will go in a covered box but he manages to pee on the side and it leaks through where the cover fits. Hopefully this will be tall enough!

  8. I’d love to try this litter box. My 13+ year old cat is starting to have some issues with voiding in places other than her box, so I’ve been trying out some new ideas, trying to keep her comfy and happy.

  9. With 14 cats in the house, several of whom are a tad arthritic and some who are excavators with exuberance, I’d love to have some esthetically pleasing high sided litterboxes like yours. It would take a lot less space than putting a large litterbox inside an even larger plastic dog kennel! That works but takes up lots of space plus doubles the cleaning efforts needed to maintain them.

  10. My old man would love this! Only to shut me up though! lol My cat is 10 yrs. old & he doesn’t always hit the target if you catch my drift! I’m always nagging him afterwards when I’m done cleaning it! If he would just keep his business strictly in the litterbox, we’d have less problems! lol This would definitely help our relationship and keep me out of his ear! ;p

  11. We would love to win this litter box! One of my boys likes to spray, but he’ll do it in his litter box (good boy!). The high sides and back on this litter box would be purrfect for him! Thanks for hosting a great giveaway! 😀

  12. I would like one because mine are problematic vertical pee-ers like yours. Plus, the Snowflake is actually quite pretty!

  13. This looks interesting but I wonder if it’s big enough for my kitty. I just have one cat but I have the jumbo size litter box because he like to spread out when he’s in there but one with high edges would be helpful. thanks.

  14. Shared. My Cat seems to poop “high” and I haven’t been able to find a box with tall enough sides. This might work.

  15. With over 40 cats at the Shawnee Om Shanti Cat Sanctuary, we have a wide variety of peeing styles. A litter pan designed for vertical pee-ers would be a most welcomed addition!

  16. I would love to win this as I have a brand new adopted kitty and she makes a huge mess in the litter. I think this would definitely help prevent her from scooping litter over the sides of the current box she has. Love this style, too!

  17. Forget that I have 9 cats. Or forget that I have a couple high pee-ers. Also forget that I have huge and drab Rubbermaid and Sterite storage boxes, some with cut-out openings, in various rooms throughout the house. And even forget that when I laid my eyes on the design of the NVR-Miss box, it had exactly the dimensions I was looking for and was far more attractive than what I’m using now. Those are all great reasons, but not the best reason why I long for this box. When I saw that snowflake box, I said THERE IT IS, a litter box that blends perfectly with our great room’s teal blue-green countertop and all the other tan and teal-blue-green décor. Functional and fabulous!

  18. I would love to win this litterbox. I run a small cat shelter. We have several cats with IBD. When they poo. it gets on the sides of the box and usually runs on the floor. We also have a few cats that don’t like to squat when peeing, resulting in pee on the floor. I am very weary of cleaning up cat pee and poo. I like the high sides and especially the side entrance. Some of our cats seem to be lazy when it comes to hi-stepping into a litterbox.

  19. I am sure this new style of litterbox will be the answer to Otto’s vertical ‘issue’. Otto is the last of my cats to be adopted (we have four cats living with us). He is about 3 years old and had been an outside unneutered cat when we found him hanging out near a very busy street in Portland, Oregon. Rushed him to the vet to be checked out and neutered and brought him home. He is a very large cat with the characteristic wrestler’s head and neck of intact male cats. Otto is very mellow and gets along with everyone – even the dogs. However, he not only digs to the center of the earth in the litterboxes but he also pees on the side (and sometimes this leaks). Is this common with males marking territory? Could he be just stuck in an old behavior pattern? I don’t know but with this new box and its tall sides, this problem will not be a bother anymore!
