I’m sure most of us have wondered at one time or another what our cats are up to all day while we’re away from home. Well, now there’s a way for you to find out!

The CatCam is a small digital camera that attaches to the cat’s collar. It features a user programmable timer function. Based on the interval time it takes pictures or video clips (based on version). The unit is protected against shock, dirt and humidity in order to survive the cat’s lifestyle. To view the pictures or videos, simply connect the camera to a computer.

Wouldn’t you love to win one of these CatCams for your cat? Now you can!

I, too, am a blind kitty, rescued from horrendous torture and abuse when I was only 3 months old. My “mom” had to wash me off to find my face and ears, all covered with pus. She cried when she found out my eyes were gone. Three vets refused to work on me, saying it was useless. But mom gave me lots of penicillin for a few months and I came out of it. I trust people again, too, and love to have company. Even the grandkids love to come over and play with me! I have to limit it to 5 minutes, though, because my lungs are damaged and I get out of breath. Mom won’t let me go outside, but I’d like her to know how I manage to get around in the house without bumping into things. She also would like to know who’s been trying to beat me up. They never do it when she’s in the room, of course. There are many cats here, because this is a shelter-home, and I’ve met a lot of cats on their way to new homes. I like them all, but sometimes the others don’t understand me. Mom doesn’t have time to make a web page for me, but she writes about me on her blog sometimes, and just published my story in a book called Our Amazing Cats. I’m ten years old now, so my message is to tell people they should never give up. A Kitty Cam would help me to leave a legacy to all who are willing to learn that love heals many wounds.

I have had one big love, my cat Baffino (” Whiskers”) who would go everywhere with me on a lead … Including trains, planes, and… Restaurants! (We live in Europe, where this is possible… )
One sad day, Baffino was diagnosed with a very aggressive tumour, a fibrosarcoma. He underwent surgery, and radiotherapy. Unfortunately, his tumour was only in remission for 3 months in spite of all the treatments.
All this time I gave up my job – luckily, I’m self employed- and life , just to be with him and let him do what he wanted – namely long walks, especially at night ( after all, aren t cats night ” birds”?) ,anywhere he wanted.
This included parks and sometimes even private gardens! I learnt a lot about cats wanderings, since I was NOT the one leading, HE was.
Sometimes this meant staying a half hour on a bench just watching for a move, a sign of another presence, be it insect or another cat…

Baffino had one special place though. Venice.

This magic city gave him a sense of well- being, the waves breaking slowly against the canals, the soft hues of the sky in those spring evenings, the glimmering of the lights in the deep waters…it all had a boosting effect on his health. But what helped him most was his fascination with the…gondolas! He kept pulling the lead to hop into them!
The rest of this story is a book I m writing….
I miss him so much, and miss the way I could observe the world through his eyes… The world as a cat sees it!
A catcam could be a close substitute , my present cats go out on their own, and I would love to add their experience to that of this unique , wonderful kitty I had during 10 years….

Oh I am hoping so much that Spirit the Blind Cat will win the CatCam. He has brought so much joy and love into my life each day by his cute pictures and sweet comments. He is blind but can see with his heart. He walks on a leash and takes adventures outside with his hoomin. He brings attention to the fact that so many animals are abused and left with serious injuries for life, but that doesn’t keep them from enjoying and treasuring each and every day. Spirit is an inspiration and makes me smile when I see his sweet precious face. I do hope he wins the CatCam.

In our little urban neighborhood all of the roaming outdoor kitties are cared for by most all of the residents.. But one cat in particular is very beloved, a tabby named Officer Friendly. He makes the rounds in his little white boots, stopping at his favorite houses to check out the dining option, keep out the riffraff and say hi to some of the hound residents. I’ve often imagined what he does with his days when he is out of sight in the underworld.

we have a rescue cat that adopted us – he would take off for hours and eventually come back – some times with “gifts” for us – we got him a gps tracker because we wanted to know where he was going – we wished it had a camera to go along with it to see where he is going and what he is doing.
would be awesome to see what he sees and where he likes to spend his time.

I would love to win the CatCam for Spirit, an amazing kitty that was blinded in a horrible act of cruelty. Spirit now has a loving “mom” who regularly puts him in a harness/lead and takes him on adventures in his neighborhood, around the Texas A&M University campus, to the local pet store, and more. It’s so rewarding to see to see him living a safe, happy, and curious life, and amazing to see how his circumstances did not break his spirit! Spirit’s many Facebook fans look forward to all the photos his “mom” posts of him and his adventures, and the CatCam would enable Spirit to share his adventures with everyone in an up close and personal manner!

I would love to have this catCam to see what my little rascals are up to whilst I’m away. I can’t for the life of me figure out how they chew on the leaves on the top of the one and only plant left in my house. All others have been banished to the patio because they love their greens!! 🙂 If I win, though, I might have to give it to Spirit the blind cat Faye mentioned above, that would be cool.
