Review and giveaway: Catpods cat furniture for the eco-friendly feline

When the big box addressed to “Allegra and Ruby King” arrived last week, the girls were very excited. The box had paw prints and cats on it! They couldn’t wait for me to open it. When I took the Catpods Original Catpod™ out of the box, they immediately went to investigate.

What is a Catpod? It’s a scratcher, playhouse, catbed, and big cat toy, all in one. Even though at first glance, the cat pod looks like your average cardboard scratcher, it is most definitely not average. It is sturdy, and heavy enough so it won’t move around when your cats go to town on it. It’s made from recycled packaging materials and with non-toxic adhesives.

Allegra started to use the Catpod as a scratcher immediately. Then she crawled inside. Not to be outdone, Ruby came over to investigate. She particulary likes the three holes on each side: she peeked inside, then stuck her paw in to bat at Allegra.

We also got a bag of Kitty Pucks with our Catpod. I love a company who recycles, and this is a super creative way of  not wasting anything in the production process. The pucks are what’s left when the holes are punched in the side of the Catpod. Ruby and Allegra love batting the pucks around. They also seem to love leaving them in strategic spots where I’ll be sure to trip over them. The Kitty Pucks are currently available at no charge with any new order.

The Catpods come in a variety of designs. I think I’m going to look into getting a Puzzle Lounger for the girls. They both had so much fun poking at each other through the holes in the Original Catpod, I bet they would have a blast with the Puzzle Lounger version.

Allegra and Ruby give this innovative product four paws up. They’ve played with it or used it as a scratcher every day since I put it up. Even though they have plenty of other scratchers, this one seems to have become the “go to” scratcher for them.

Jenny, my 11 year old tortie point Maine Coon-Siamese mix, would be estatic with this Catpod. First, cardboard scratchers are her favorite, and second, she loves to hide out in her snap-up pod from the boys who try to make her life miserable. With this one she could hide and scratch at the same time.

I’d like to win because my cats do NOT have enough boxes to play with and they love it when a new one comes in the mail. Oh, and I think they’d really like the Catpod as well.

My 6 kitties (all rescues – 2 were ferals) would LOVE this cute Catpod. I live in a row home that is only 9-3/4 feet wide and they utilize my stairs from the first to second floor as their own personal racetrack. This would give them another playtoy to occupy their time and give me many more laughs with them. I can almost see them chasing each other through the tunnel and one sitting on top while batting at another while they are in the tunnel. My kitties give me so much happiness and help me through each day.

I have 7 cats who fight for space to climb and claim in my little crackerbox home. It would be so nice to provide them with a couple more places to get away from each other or hide from the thunder in.

I think my cats at home and at my cat hospital would totally love these. I would love to win one to try out to see if I will carry them in my hospital to offer as an alternative to declawing (I won’t cut kitty toes off!). If I can try one out and tell people that my cats approve of them it will give me more anti-declawing ammunition! Thanks for making such an Eco-friendly product that helps both cats and their people! I’ll keep my fingers crossed that I will win!

With my 6 cats, this would never be sitting around unused! It might even help my chunky seniors shed of little of that excess ‘fur’ 😉 And I know my 8month tortie girl will love it!

My 3 cats would love to have a pod to play in,on, and around! They love to hide in boxes and wait for one of the others to come by and then attack as the unsuspecting prey walks by. I’m a vet tech and I always love any new product designed with cats in mind so i can try them with my kids and then also recommend them to my clients. No cats are the same but it is nice to see a company that recycles and makes cool products out of the materials, and leaves no waste!!!
